It’s safe to say Vicki Gunvalson is currently parked beside her phone. She’s not making any calls, she’s waiting for one to come in. Also waiting by the phone are alleged Real Housewives of Orange County stars Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter.
Historically, Andy Cohen is not a fan of ultimatums. While he tends to play favorites with his Real Housewives, Big Daddy does not appreciate a warning. While attending BravoCon this year, Vicki announced she will no longer return to RHOC in “friend” capacity, it’s full-time or nothing. Now contracts have gone out but Vicki’s orange is still being dangled over her head. Radar has the scoop.
The long wait …
Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow, and Shannon Beador are all on board for Season 18 of RHOC. Taylor Armstrong was axed and alum Alexis Bellino is involved in talks with the network. Unfortunately for Vicki, she’s still in the “considered” category.
As everyone knows, whether you want to or not, Vicki is the OG of the OC. She carried a heavy load seemingly becoming the matriarch of the show, until Brooks Ayers entered the chat in Season 7. Brooks and Vicki were the toxic twosome and his disgustingly deceitful way of lying about a cancer diagnosis made him the enemy of pretty much everyone. Except for Vicki.
She stood by her man and lost friends and fans. The topic of such a horrible disease was too close for the audience to allow Vicki’s actions to slide. Also, viewers grew weary of Vicki’s eternal pattern of looking for love in all the wrong places (looking for love in too many faces…). The Vickster wasn’t asked back after Season 15 and she’s been begging to return ever since.
According to insiders close to the OG, she’s “down” about not having multiple oranges thrown her way as soon as she issued her BravoCon threat. It’s also no secret Tammy Sue getting her fruit back almost sent Vicki spiraling.
Will she go quietly …
While Vicki received a “Wifetime” Achievement Award at BravoCon, many believe this was her swan song and Bravo bidding her adieu, but she is allegedly being considered full-time for Season 14. Or Bravo is just trying to soften the blow.
Should Vicki receive the call, it’s assumed she will announce the news without much delay. But right now, she’s biting her acrylics, trying to keep busy, and sobbing at 20-minute intervals. Perhaps she can have a nice lunch with Gina and Emily. Stay tuned.
