In early October, Gina Kirschenheiter came after Andy Cohen for a brief segment on Watch What Happens Live. During the segment, a cartoon whale asked Heather Dubrow which of her Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars would get the least amount of money from selling their house.
Heather hesitated but ultimately refused to answer the question. Andy then suggested Gina, saying, “She has a casita.” Gina responded to the clip on her Instagram, calling the question “unkind,” and explaining how she was doing just fine financially.
At the time this all went down, Bethenny Frankel was ramping up pressure against Andy. She accused him of asking provocative, sometimes degrading questions to pit reality stars against one another. Inadvertently, Gina became a small part of the reality reckoning as Bethenny held her up as an example. Now, Gina has recently reflected on the situation.
Gina confirms Bethenny Frankel “doesn’t know” her
Gina recently appeared on The Sarah Fraser Show podcast where she discussed the reality reckoning and her involvement via Bethenny. “I don’t know why the reality reckoning wasn’t done with a better approach,” she began. “Like why didn’t they go to NBC and see if there were things they agreed upon or things they could negotiate?”
She continued, “I have been accused of being one of the sources in the Vanity Fair article and I have never even read the article.” Of course, that doesn’t preclude her from having been a part of it, but it’s not difficult to take her at her word here. “Vanity Fair never even reached out to me. I think it’s because I have always spoken up and been honest people assumed I was involved.”
She concluded with a few thoughts on Andy and Bethenny. “I have been very happy with the way production has treated me. And I think Bethenny used my story about Andy Cohen commenting about my house being worth the least on RHOC for her own benefit. Bethenny admitted she doesn’t know me; I think she used that story for her own gain.”
RHOC is expected to return to Bravo for Season 18 in 2024.
