Monica Garcia has been a trending topic as of late. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans were introduced to Monica as Jen Shah’s former employee. However, she very quickly carved a different identity via a sordid past. But were you expecting a mugshot?
Monica revealed that she’d had an 18-month-long affair with her brother-in-law. As of three days ago, Monica’s former lover was revealed to the public as Jared Taylor, with his picture and personal details making the rounds on social media.
Now, with so many eyes on Monica, her ex-lover, and her affair, Monica has decided to make sure she takes back the narrative.
Monica Garcia’s mugshot was for a traffic violation
On December 7, Monica made an Instagram post, encouraging individuality and self-actualization. “People are hella bent on ‘exposing’ me,” she wrote, “but baby, I STAY exposing MYSELF. I don’t need anyone to do that for me.” In all caps, she emphasized, “DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE!!!!! EVER.”
She further reminded her followers that the past does not define a person. “YOU control your story. I have no problem taking accountability for my sh*t, but what I will not do is take ‘accountability’ for things that I did not do.” She said no one could “break” her with her own past. “I’ll own it all.”
Then, as an aside, Monica wrote in parentheses: “also, I was arrested for a $100 traffic violation that resulted in a warrant for my arrest. Have at it?” On the third slide of the post, after showing off her reunion look, Monica let fans see her mugshot from the time.
On the one hand, it’s admirable that Monica would release her mugshot before anyone could get the jump on her. However, if I may put on my tinfoil hat for a moment, perhaps this is Monica’s attempt to distract from the news of her brother-in-law. Or perhaps another story that has yet to break.
