Mia Thornton might be separated from her husband Gordon Thornton, but that doesn’t mean she’s single. In fact, she already has a new man in her life! Here’s what we know about the RHOP castmate’s romantic interests.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star had the gossip mill working overtime at BravoCon a few weeks ago when she wore a diamond ring on her actual ring finger. Naturally, fans assumed that she was engaged, but Mia quickly shot down those rumors.
Now Mia is ready to share a little more about her break up and new romance.
Mia’s marriage breakdown
While appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Mia opened up to Andy Cohen and called her split with Gordon “mutual.” She explained, “I just think it’s just a sequence of events over the past couple of years that put a strain on a marriage.”
Something that Mia has been an open book about is the financial issues she and Gordon went through with their business. Those issues were featured as part of her storyline on this season of RHOP.
Mia told Andy of their money troubles, “Yeah, that has a lot to do with it, for sure.” A point that she had already made with a now-deleted Instagram post back in October. The post accused Gordon’s brothers of revoking “his access to the company bank account” while the couple was “out of the country.”
A new chapter
As for her new relationship, the entrepreneur and reality star didn’t say as much as fans would have liked. But it’s probably best to play this new love close to the vest if divorce proceedings begin. Said Mia, “I’m not engaged, I am committed.”
But just in case anyone thinks there might have been some relationship overlap, Mia made sure to point out that her 11-year marriage was monogamous.
“We did some things. It wasn’t open. I think an open marriage is when you can do things without the other partner. Gordon was always involved,” Mia asserted.
