Everyone knows that the guests on Below Deck are needy, entitled, and difficult to impress. But who would have thought there would be alleged criminals in our midst?
The Messenger recently reported that two Below Deck guests were arrested for their supposed role in a prescription drug scheme. Allegedly, they used some of the Below Deck crew as a part of their plot.
They’re getting ready to appear in court, but the scheme they’re accused of trying to pull is just as obnoxious as a Below Deck preference sheet. Here are all of the details.
From Below Deck to behind bars
Dr. Francis Martinis, a urologist, and his wife, Jessica, appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 and Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1. According to court records, they stole some of the crew’s personal information and used it to write fake oxycodone prescriptions.
The two geniuses got busted when Jessica brought in a handwritten prescription to a pharmacy. The pharmacist knew it looked suspicious, so they called the cops.
Once the cops started investigating the couple, they learned that this behavior had been going on for two years. For two whole years, Jessica was going into pharmacies and paying cash for oxycodone prescriptions written out to Below Deck cast members. Maybe the one pharmacist who finally caught on was a Bravo watcher.
The doctor and his wife were both charged with eight counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and falsifying business records. Of course, they’re pleading not guilty. Their lawyer is confident that they’ll be proven innocent once they have their day in court.
“My clients have pled not guilty and are presumed innocent and look forward to their day in Court to clear their names,” the couple’s lawyer claimed. “The evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated.”
We’ll be keeping our eye out for updates on this messy Below Deck couple. But, it’s probably safe to say we won’t be seeing them in any future seasons.
