Producers on ABC’s dating show The Golden Bachelor have been accused of knowing about Gerry Turner’s dating history. Despite claiming not to have been kissed since the tragic passing of his wife in 2017, Gerry has been exposed as a liar.
The 72-year-old admitted he had lied about his dating history earlier this month. In fact, he had dated several women in the years leading up to his appearance on Golden Bachelor.
Now, an insider is intent on bringing to light what producers knew. And it leaves us wondering as viewers, have we all been had?
Insider claims Golden Bachelor producers ran with false story despite knowing the truth
Speaking with In Touch, an insider said: “They [producers] vetted Gerry thoroughly, how could they not know?” They continued: “It was a better storyline to say he hadn’t kissed another woman.” Gerry had said on the show that the pain of his grief meant he couldn’t consider another romance; until Golden Bachelor came along, of course.
The source also wanted people to know that Gerry wasn’t trying to throw producers “under the bus.”
“He did lie and he regrets it,” they concluded.
According to Gerry, the process he went through to become the Golden Bachelor was extensive. He previously said it involved him taking his “very first STD test,” and his fingerprints being sent to the FBI.
An exposé from The Hollywood Reporter brought Gerry’s true history to light. The widower had been in a serious relationship with one woman in particular, who spoke out under the condition of anonymity. Their relationship started just one month after Gerry’s wife’s passing.
Gerry was later accused of fat-shaming an ex, and stretching the truth when it came to his job.
