Lisa Rinna strikes again! As if we needed any more proof that the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was the worst, Crystal Kung Minkoff is now spilling the tea about how Rinna screwed her over.
The two never seemed particularly close on the show. But according to Crystal, it’s what happened in between seasons that really caught her off guard.
Here’s exactly what went down, and why Crystal will likely be forever wary.
It all started with a lunch
On a recent episode of the podcast The Viall Files, Crystal opened up about her unfilmed lunch with Rinna and how it came back to bite her in the ass.
She told host Nick Viall, “I had lunch with [Lisa] after my first season, and she was like, ‘How’s it going? How was your first year?’ I was like, ‘It’s hard. You know, I had like 14 friends.'”
This admission led to the on-camera storyline that Crystal lost all of her friends, leaving her castmates to speculate about Crystal’s character.
The RHOBH star added of Rinna, “She brought it up on camera. She was asking me how the show was going for me, and you know I had some fallout because I did the show, and it was very challenging for me. Stuff like this triggers people in a way that you would never know until it happens. You can’t anticipate it.”
Crystal added, “I was already going through my own fears about doing the show, let alone outside people’s feelings about it. So I just shared it with her.”
Rinna faked her support of Crystal
The decision to tell Rinna what she thought was private left Crystal feeling “paralyzed” by betrayal. Making matters worse, the mom and entrepreneur thought Rinna was “supportive” of her friendship woes. “She was very supportive and said it happens to everybody and every season you continue, it will still happen and … then it came up and I was paralyzed and I couldn’t even talk about it because I still was like in it,” Crystal shared.
As for why she didn’t confront Rinna about her backstabbing? “I think she then knew I wasn’t going to talk about it and it just never went anywhere,” Crystal admitted.
