At this point, whether Kyle Richards from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is having an affair or not is moot. But her friendship with country singer Morgan Wade is still something to keep an eye on. The newest season of the 90210 series shows Kyle constantly having to defend her relationship with Morgan. Having a best friend should be easy and compliment the person you already are. However, it feels like Kyle has changed a lot about herself in order to gain Morgan’s acceptance. It’s no surprise this is raising red flags among followers.
Kyle and Dorit Have Drifted Apart
Evidently, gone are the days of Dorit Kemsley and Kyle making silly Instagram videos together. The two moms used to be inseparable thanks to their husbands’ bond. But this season shows Kyle pulling away from everyone, and Dorit is finding it challenging to defend her former BFF. On the December 8th episode of Watch What Happens Live, Dorit revealed that the closer Kyle became to Morgan “the further she got from” Dorit.
We have all seen some toxic relationships take hold of Real Housewives in the past. Usually, when a close friend mentions an issue or opinion, the particular housewife under the microscope blows up and drifts away. Dorit noted that she wasn’t the only one being given the cold shoulder, making it seem like Kyle was exiling herself to her own Morgan Island.
Kyle Has Made Lifestyle Changes
It is hard to forget that Kyle was once the ponytail-swinging, floor-splitting party girl who enjoyed a cocktail or two. But she’s no longer that person. Of course, getting sober is something to be commended—as long as you make the change for yourself. However, it feels as if Kyle may have given up the booze in order to please Morgan, who is six years sober herself.
Kyle shared with the women her reason for choosing sobriety, noting, “I just really felt like alcohol wasn’t serving me. I wanted to do whatever it took to make me feel better physically and spiritually.”
Now, I know viewers aren’t entitled to the whole story, but I feel like a big piece of the puzzle is missing. There was no lead-up to Kyle quitting cold turkey and no solid explanation. Everyone at one point can probably say alcohol didn’t serve them, but not everyone decides to get sober. I feel this was a push to connect emotionally with Morgan so the two could feel they had more in common. It’s wonderful to see Kyle living her best life as a sober woman. But it’s concerning if she made that decision to gain the approval of Morgan.
Kyle Is Marking Her Body
In August 2022, Kyle started to tattoo her body. Maybe it’s a coincidence, but Morgan and the child actor first began hanging out in February 2022. Morgan is known for her multiple tattoos that cover most of her body. In a little over a year Kyle has gotten a heart, the Roman numeral 18, a crescent moon and stars crossed arrows, 111, a clover, and a Saturn tattoo.
It almost feels like Morgan is marking her territory by convincing Kyle to get more, but this is just a theory. Kyle bluntly stated to the cameras, “I think I’m gonna get another one…If I want to, I will.”
Perhaps the weirdest part of the friends’ tattoo journey is the fact that Kyle drew a “K” on Morgan as if to brand her. Even Dorit questioned her friend’s motive, asking, “You put the first letter of your name on her body? What is going on, Kyle?” Maybe this is why Kyle is also pushing her former friend away.
Morgan and Kyle Are Fueling the Flames
It is almost beginning to feel like Kyle enjoys the attention she receives from those who think she is in a lesbian relationship. Obviously, she had a challenging year with her marriage, and it could be she found Morgan’s arms comforting. While there may not have been any spark to begin with, the mother of four could easily have been swayed into making the story more than it really is.
Hiding from her issues hasn’t done her any favors, but living in a bubble with Morgan could have made her feel extremely safe during a difficult time. Taking part in Morgan’s music video, “Fall in Love with Me,” wasn’t helpful either, as it fed into Kyle’s possible fantasy. The video showed the duo feeding each other fruit, sharing a bubble bath, and almost kissing.
Kyle needs to sort her head out and tell herself the truth first so she can finally have a resolution when it comes to her connection with Morgan. Hopefully, Kyle isn’t losing track of herself as a result of her friendship with Morgan.
