Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip debuted its Season 4, RHONY Legacy, by dropping the first three episodes at once like a much-needed present. The highly-anticipated season filled with Real Housewives of New York legends is a masterpiece in the making, and we’re only a few days into the vacation.
The third episode chronicled the RHUGT crew’s third day in St. Barths. It took approximately 72-hours for Kelly to return to her Scary Island ways. Here are five of the main takeaways from RHUGT: RHONY Legacy Episode 3: “Take Me Out To The Hockey Game.”
Ramona’s on her best behavior
Ramona must have known what was in store for her after this trip. Or her new secret boyfriend really has made her a nicer person because she was on her best behavior in St. Barths. She’s overly kind to the house staff and has an unusual patience with her friends. Let’s be honest — it’s still Ramona, so she was still yelling and acting up, but it was way less than usual.
During the dinner for the day, Ramona admitted that the biggest misconception about her is that she’s hard and uncaring. “Your heart is very good,” Dorinda said to her friend “Rude? Okay, that’s another story. We don’t need to go there.” Fair.
Even Kristen was shocked that Ramona backed her up all day while she was feuding with Kelly. “Out of all these women, how is it that I’m most connected to Ramona?” Kristen said in a confessional. “Ramona and I could be besties.” It’s a huge leap from when Ramona threw a wine glass in her face, so we have to recognize some progress. None of this defends her fireable actions, however.
Is Andy Cohen on this trip?
Luann and Kelly reignited the same feud about their distant friendship. Lu, again, brought up Kelly not following through and bringing her to a Rangers’ game. Hey, at least she admitted she wanted to go so badly to meet men. Kristen tried to pipe up and ask what the Rangers had to do with the fight, and it clearly reminded Kelly of her old boss.
Kelly went on to repeatedly refer to Kristen as the “host” of the trip. First, she was a fan, which was a dig I could get behind, but the host accusation was a reach. “Kristen, his name is Andy Cohen. It’s not Kristen Taekman,” Kelly snipped. “You are acting like you’re Andy Cohen and you’re not.”
Kristen, along with the rest of the crew, couldn’t understand Kelly’s reasoning. She claimed that Kristen was playing producer to deflect, which is something she used to do. It sounded like another case of deflection from Kelly, and it wasn’t a good look for someone trying to look calm and collected.
Sonjarita never gets old
It’s an appropriate time in the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season to honor the gem that is Sonja Morgan. She’s always the straw that stirs the drink without even trying, and this trip is no excuse. She spent her morning reading old articles about Kristen’s husband on Ashley Madison. During the dinner, she scratched her back with her butter knife when she wasn’t trying to drunkenly interrupt a serious conversation. Her vagina was flashed to the camera an average of three times per episode. I just can’t quit her.
One of the best moments was when Sonja, Ramona, and Luann took advantage of a long car ride to film Cameos together. Sonja gave Ramona advice on pricing and filmed her cameos out of opting for a skinny dip in the pool instead of a shower. “We all got work to do, so why not do it all together?” Luann said of the Cameo filming. “The fans love it you get three for one.” I love the working women of Bravo more than anything.
Kelly returns to Scary Island
Kelly’s spiral about Kristen being a host inspired Dorinda to watch Scary Island during her downtime of the day. “With Kelly’s increasingly quirky behavior, I think I needed to watch Scary Island,” Dorinda said. “I definitely see a pattern here. Not that we’re there yet, but the train is pulling up to the station.” Ding ding ding.
Kelly was so paranoid that people were trying to make her have another Scary Island meltdown that she let it happen. Dorinda must have had a few martinis in her because she decided to defend Kristen by poking at Kelly. Let’s not forget that two episodes ago, Kelly and Dorinda were newfound besties, so the tides quickly turned.
Dorinda called Kelly “nutty” which only continued to trigger the entire situation. “You’ve been after me all day long,” Kelly snapped back at Dorinda. Ultimately, Dorinda told the girls to act mature and they dropped the fight without resolve. No way this vacation will end without another appearance from Jelly Belly Kelly.
Kristen is finally heard
The ladies weren’t going to let Kristen vaguely bring up her husband’s cheating scandal and never talk about it again. Sonja showed up to dinner with the article fresh in her mind and a bone to pick. Kristen claimed that she didn’t look into the details and moved on with her family, but that wasn’t a good enough answer.
“It’s just honestly really hurtful. They want to stir up stuff from my past to get to know me better?” Kristen said. “I owe you nothing.” Fair, but as a fan of the show, she should know better than to think an Ashley Madison scandal would disappear that easily.
Kelly was the most vocal about disapproving of Kristen’s stance on the issue. “I’ve never heard a woman outside of Hillary Clinton say they don’t care except for you,” Kelly said. Lu put it best — Kelly felt like she was looking in a mirror and mad at herself rather than mad at Kristen. In the end, Kristen got to explain herself once and for all and felt heard. The women were satisfied enough with her display of emotion to forget the situation and dance on the tables. Another day in paradise, folks.
Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip continues Thursdays, streaming on Peacock.
