At BravoCon 2023, all eyes were on Captain Jason Chambers. We couldn’t take our eyes off of him, and neither could the Bravolebrities. The Below Deck Down Under captain was the number one guy, and everyone wanted to see him match up with someone.
By the end of the weekend, it seemed like Vanderpump Rules’ star Lala Kent was the lucky lady. The pair posed together at BravoCon, and rumors swirled that the two might be hooking up. As far as we know, that never happened, but are the two still in touch?
Lala recently gave an update on their relationship to Bravo’s Daily Dish, and unfortunately for those who were rooting for the pair, it sounds like any spark might have faded.
Are Captain Jason Chambers and Lala Kent still talking?
According to Lala, she and the captain are still in contact! But, it doesn’t sound like they’re going to be going on a date anytime soon. Lala said she just isn’t interested in dating right now. Plus, the fact that Captain Jason lives on a whole different continent probably also isn’t a boon to sparking a romance.
“We communicate through Instagram. If he posts something, I’m like, ‘Ha that’s so cool.’ But no,” Lala explained. “You know, I think he’s very very handsome, as many people do. He’s quite a bit older than me. He lives somewhere very very far from me. And timing is everything with a relationship, and I’m just not quite there. I know I’m a weirdo.”
Currently, Lala said her primary focus is raising her daughter and continuing to build her career. She doesn’t have time to be caught up in a situationship. Lala said that, unlike her VPR co-stars, she doesn’t see a need to hop into a relationship after being single for a minute.
“I think if I really wanted a partner right now, then I would go and try to make that happen,” she said. “But we’re thriving, we’re moving, we’re shaking, we’re creating an empire, we have a baby … just all good things, all really, really fun things happening.”
So, it’s a bummer that there isn’t a love connection between Captain Jason and Lala. But the good news is, this means he’s still single.
