Real Housewives of Miami Season 6 has had its ups and downs for Marysol Patton. Recently, fans saw her apologize to Nicole Martin given her poor treatment of the doctor over the last couple of years. She also managed to apologize to Adriana de Moura during the Palm Beach trip.
Still, Marysol has had her feet held to the fire multiple times this season. For one thing, she very nearly didn’t show up for Alexia Nepola when Alexia most needed her at the Nuevos Horizontes party. As such, she was accused of emotionally manipulating Alexia.
The cast also threw out accusations of Marysol hiring a private investigator to dig up dirt on her fellow Housewives. With all that drama circulating, it’s interesting to look back on where it all began.
Marysol’s audition was “very self-deprecating”
In a recent interview with Bustle, Marysol shared what she remembered of her audition. “I was at Donatella Versace’s [ex]-husband Paul Beck’s 50th birthday dinner in New York,” she said, “and I remember feeling like I was only laughing out of one side of my face. My mom wanted to take me to the hospital. I’m like, ‘We’re going to enjoy our trip to New York.’”
She continued, “I got home, and [casting agents] had been calling my office to recommend wealthy socialites for Miami to try out for this show. Most of my friends’ husbands said, ‘No, you’re not doing that.’ They wouldn’t let them, and I had this little voice in my stomach that said, ‘You should go.’”
Marysol explained that when she went to her audition, her “face was all twisted,” with her right eyelid and right side of her lip lifted upward. “I was drooling. It was a hot mess. But I sat there, and I was very self-deprecating. For some reason, they liked that, and I got the job.” On another note, as to whether Marysol would ever go full-time, she said, “I want that paycheck.”
