Craig Conover’s been trying to talk his girlfriend Paige DeSorbo into an engagement for at least a year now. The last time they discussed it on Summer House in Season 7 (filmed in the summer of 2022), Paige burst into tears and said, “I don’t want to leave my mom.”
Apparently, her feelings changed or she was just calling Craig’s bluff when they “almost” tied the knot in Las Vegas during BravoCon. “I said, ‘Let’s go do it in a chapel,’” the fashion blogger recalled. “Craig chickened out, though.”
While Paige said she was down for a Vegas wedding, her Southern Charm boyfriend couldn’t swallow the idea of an elopement. “I’m not going to get married in Vegas,” he insisted. “I want something more real than that.” US Weekly has all the tea.
What could be more real than Elvis?
First of all, my hubby and I married in a wedding chapel in Reno. We just celebrated 21 years in November. We didn’t have the money for a wedding, and I just wanted it to be legal so I could have health insurance. That’s about as real as it gets.
Craig and Paige are taking credit for all the crossover connections taking place at BravoCon this year. There was reportedly no shortage of inter-show commingling in Sin City. “I’ve definitely heard a lot of crossover hookups,” Paige claimed while declining to say which stars might be crossing over.
Paige and Craig first connected on the Summer House spinoff Winter House in 2021. At the time, Craig was still entangled with his ex-girlfriend Naomie Olindo, so he and Paige remained friends.
That September the pair confirmed they were in a relationship while attending Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s wedding. Craig has since shown up now and then on Summer House, while Paige appears on Southern Charm as well. She even has her own designated room in his house since a girl needs space for all her clothes.
“Everyone was like, ‘Thanks for forcing our hand on this. This is a new chapter of Bravo,’” Craig asserts. “Now that we started to date, it’s the Marvel Universe.”
Inter-show crossovers aren’t easy to maintain
It’s not easy navigating inter-show romance, especially when you’re doing it long distance. While Craig lives in Charleston, Paige is entrenched in NYC. They have a four-day rule, where they try not to go longer than four days without seeing each other.
Earlier this season, Southern Charm star Taylor Ann Green threw out an accusation that Paige had been unfaithful to Craig. Both Paige and Craig have repeatedly denied that there is any truth to Taylor’s allegations.
“Paige is like, ‘How on earth would I have pulled that off?’” Craig said of his girlfriend’s reaction to the accusation. As reality stars, their daily lives are both under a microscope, and the press (assisted by watchful fans with cellphone cameras) records their every public move.
Around the same time, Craig told host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that he and his girlfriend were focused on achieving “sustainable growth” in their relationship. Saying they were “in a really good place,” Craig still hopes to ask Paige to marry him sometime in the near future. Maybe he’d better designate a space for her mom if he wants Paige to come to Charleston on a permanent basis.
Southern Charm airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. Summer House is streaming on Peacock.
