Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 4 is everything and more for Real Housewives of New York fans. The entire show is one big nod to the legendary seasons of RHONY over the years. The cast came into their comeback on their A-game and the drama makes it truly feel like we’re back on Scary Island.
The fourth episode coincided with the fourth day of the trip. And for Sonja Morgan, that meant giving the ladies a taste of her yachting days by chartering a luxury boat. While the scenery couldn’t have been more picturesque, it wasn’t smooth sailing for the ladies on board. Here are five of the main takeaways from RHUGT Season 4, Episode 4: “A Yacht of Attention.”
Kelly is fully back on the merry-go-round
Another day in St. Barths means another day on Scary Island with Kelly. While the other women woke up hungover after a night of shots and skinny dipping, Kelly woke up refreshed and ready to take work phone calls by the pool. The other women, mainly Luann, Dorinda, and Kristen, felt like Kelly was trying to prove something through her public displays of productivity. “I have so much energy because I eat well, sleep well, try to do nice things for other people. Kindness keeps you young,” Kelly said to the poor yoga instructor who was paid to listen to her.
The other women had an a-ha moment about Kelly’s problem — she was jealous of Kristen. “She definitely wants to feel like she is part of the it crowd like she wants to pick up where she left off,” Dorinda said. “She thinks Kristen needs to be hazed a little bit.” When Kelly wasn’t fighting on the trip, she was awkwardly in a corner by herself, nervously reapplying chapstick. The project on Kristen was real, and everyone knew it after a few days in the villa.
Luxury has a taste for Sonja
The main activity for the day was organized by Sonja, who charted a luxury yacht for the women to spend the day eating lobster and sipping pink Champagne. “As Luann would say, Sonja, we got the yacht,” Sonja proudly said about herself. Luann had her own fun while riding an inflatable hot dog while Dorinda while being pulled by a boat through the ways. “Nothing like a gyrating hot dog under a middle-aged woman,” Dorinda said. It was one of those scenes that you just have to see.
Of course, there is drama on the yacht brought upon by Kelly, as always. She was so hung up on Dorinda calling her “c*nty” the evening before, even though Dorinda already apologized for using the word, that she went into meltdown mode. It was a reach for Kelly and no one could really back up her point because of the lack of sense it made. “You know how we distract kids with candy? Can we get some jelly beans for Kelly and move on?” Sonja said. You can say that again.
Dorinda has fully entered Scary Island
Dorinda has whiplash from the Kelly of it all. She used the feud as another reason to bring up her watching Scary Island on the trip to get an understanding of Kelly. “Now I get it, I know what I’m dealing with,” Dorinda said. “I thought I was dealing with a bunny rabbit, but I’m dealing with a different animal.”
Kelly continued to poke at her issues with Dorinda throughout the dinner, despite being advised otherwise. Even Dorinda was so confused by the back and forth with Kelly that she ultimately gave up, apologized again, and asked Kelly for a fresh start in the morning. She put it on record that they went to bed on night four as friends because we know that Kelly can do a major switch-up by the morning. “Last I remembered, Kelly and Dorinda were having an argument at dinner. Now she’s best friends with Dorinda. What did I miss?” Kristen said in a confessional. Girl, we’re all just as confused as you.
Lu’s last-ditch effort
Luann spent the day trying to get Kelly back on track. She realized that out of everyone, she was the closest to Kelly and didn’t want her to keep isolating herself. Kelly, on the other hand, was so hung up on Kristen’s portrayal to “the fans” that she couldn’t see her own demise happening in real-time. “You can’t call her a fan,” Luann said to Kelly about Kristen. “She wanted to do her homework before she came i think it’s smart.” Kelly’s spiral included her claiming to be having the best time while sobbing on a yacht and screaming about Kristen losing endorsements from the show. Ultimately, Luann had to put her hands up.
Lu couldn’t even sit through the dinner while listening to Kelly dig herself into a deeper hole. “It’s frustrating what we’re saying doesn’t seem to penetrate Kelly and she doesn’t seem to mind,” Luann said. The Countess spent the night stress smoking cigarettes and hiding from her friends with the staff. Honestly, when Kelly is screaming about being “literally a little bird,” I would’ve done the same thing.
Kristen’s failed night
Kristen set up the night’s dinner which was a bust from the get-go. She did a “neon” theme to be “on trend,” which was just a lame way to describe a party. Ramona and Luann were particularly disappointed that Kristen didn’t think of inviting anyone outside of their group to a so-called party. The only bright moment in the disastrous dinner was Sonja’s way of crudely describing having a threesome. Of course, Jelly Belly Kelly had to interrupt the fun stories to put the spotlight on her own nonsense.
Kelly ended up ruining the night so badly that everyone went to bed early. Kristen had games and activities planned that never came to fruition thanks to Kelly. “This night’s been kind of a bust,” Kristen said. “Everybody’s angry.” A true moment of symbolism was when Dorinda needed help from a producer to get out of her throat-choking necklace, which she described as the same way that Kelly made her feel. Let’s hope Day 5 ends with more skinny dipping and less of Luann sucking on a vape in the butler’s pantry.
