Another day, another story about Dorit Kemsley being tone-deaf. On this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit got called out for her persistent claims that she was being “attacked” by Garcelle Beauvais.
On the show, Garcelle said that it wasn’t her job to “educate” Dorit about the angry Black woman trope. She’s done enough “educating” on the show to last a lifetime. So, of all people, Erika Jayne was the one to explain to Dorit how it’s a little problematic to constantly claim that the Black friend in the circle is “attacking” you.
On RHOBH, the girls told Dorit that her cultural insensitiveness makes her seem like she “lives in a bubble.” That’s a valid criticism. However, Dorit just shared an Instagram post seemingly mocking that very real conversation.
Popping the bubble
Ahead of the latest episode of RHOBH, Dorit shared a series of photos on Instagram with the caption, “happily living in my bubble #rhobh @bravotv 8/7c tonight.”
Immediately, fans took to Dorit’s comments to drag her that caption because why would you want to live in a bubble? Why is it so hard to acknowledge microaggressions?
One fan replied in the comments, “This caption isn’t doing what you think it’s doing, Dorit…”
RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Sasha Belle also weighed in under Dorit’s post. They wrote, “This caption is really disappointing.”
During the race conversation on RHOBH, Dorit said that she felt like Garcelle had educated her on the issue. Clearly, that lesson didn’t stick since she posted this tone-deaf post on her Instagram.
Despite the fury in her comments, she still hasn’t edited the caption or responded to the criticism. She probably can’t hear us from within her bubble.
