More often than not, there are some real losers when it comes to a year in the lives of a Real Housewives star. But as the New Year ball begins to drop, there are some who actually had a pretty decent trip around the sun. It isn’t every day that we get to take a look back on the drama that made 2023, but we do hope the good TV moments continue, even if it means some of our favorite Real Housewives of sacrifice as a peace offering. Here are the Real Housewives winners and losers from the past year.
Kyle Richards – Loser
Physically, Kyle Richards is having the best year of her life. At 54, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is strutting around like she is a teenager again. Kyle has worked hard on her health, giving up drinking and turning to her workout regime for solace. However, her personal life has not been all rainbows and butterflies. News broke that her 27-year marriage to Mauricio Umansky was on the rocks.
Rumors started swirling that Kyle was actually having an affair with country singer Morgan Wade. The two have been spotted getting extremely close over the last year. At BravoCon 2023, Kyle accidentally used the “D” word, eluding to what an emotional rollercoaster she had been on. Mo has been traveling and partaking in the Dancing with the Stars, and it very much looks like they are living their separate lives. Hopefully, 2024 can find Kyle back on track and living her best 90210 life.
Shannon Beador – Loser
Shannon Beador is another Real Housewives star who has had an upsetting 2023. Firstly, the mother of three broke up with her boyfriend of three years, John Jannsen. Even though the breakup happened at the end of 2022, Bravo viewers didn’t really hear about their issues until the most recent Real Housewives of Orange County season premiered this year. It turns out that there was a lot of bickering, and the couple was not at a point to really move on from their issues.
Fast forward to September 2023, when fans woke up to the news that Shannon had been involved in a hit-and-run not far from her home. Video footage caught her taking a turn too sharply and crashing into someone’s wall. She then jumped out of the car, grabbed her dog, Archie, and pretended to be on a nightly walk. For her crimes, Shannon has been sentenced to three years of probation and 40 hours of community service. She also was expected to pay restitution for the house damage.
Drew Sidora – Winner
It is quite possible that Drew Sidora is having one of her best years, thanks to dropping 190 lbs of a manchild. After almost a decade of marriage, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star and Ralph Pittman revealed in March 2023 that she would be ending their union. Ralph had been gaslighting his wife for years and most likely cheating on her. Fans will recall Ralph disappeared to Tampa without so much as a peep, leaving Drew in the dark for days.
However, now, Drew is flourishing. She is acting again and working on her music career. Needless to say, she is thriving without her husband and possibly should have considered separation much, much sooner, at least for her own sanity.
Ashley Darby – Winner
Once again, we have another housewife who is happily living a single life. Ashley Darby dropped her dead weight husband after multiple cheating scandals. The Australian businessman was caught flirting with strippers and taking girls back to his hotel room in Las Vegas. So naughty, Michael Darby. The former beauty queen was such a catch, so it always seemed odd how she had settled for someone who could have been her father.
Even though the couple still hadn’t filed the paperwork, Ashley walked away with a mansion in Arlington. The new season of the Real Housewives of Potomac is showing Ashley with not only a new house but a new set of boobs. After casting off the shackles of marriage, Ashley is looking forward to dating in the New Year, knowing things can only go up.
