Unfortunately, the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 4 finale has arrived all too soon. I was just getting used to being around the legendary Real Housewives of New York stars every week like in the good old days. Peacock’s latest RHUGT season might be its best yet, and the one-time apple holders were mostly to thank for that.
Don’t worry — RHUGT saved the best for last with the final episode that documented the last day of the St. Barths trip. Luann was on a mission to find a new pirate before boarding her plane, and thanks to Dorinda’s disco party, she succeeded. Here are the five main takeaways from the RHUGT Season 4 finale, “(Going) Out with a Bang.” Goodbye for now, RHONY Legacy.
Sonja’s spiritual meltdown
The ladies had a bit of calm before a wild final night at the villa in St. Barths. They headed to a serene beach for some water floatation therapy, and Sonja’s attitude was south from the start. Sonjarita felt like her co-stars, especially Kristen, were taking jabs at the chaos in her life by saying she needed the therapy the most. “I don’t know where to go with Kristen except to soccer practice,” Sonja said.
Some of the women, like Dorinda, were moved to tears by the therapy. Sonja couldn’t even pretend to enjoy it like the rest of the crew. She seemed to have more fun peeing in the sand and chugging wine in her beach chair than during the spiritual session. “No one goes to St. Barths to get in touch with themselves. They go to St. Barths to touch someone else,” Sonja said.
Sonjarita’s bad attitude extended to the lunch. It was clear that the entire situation hit a nerve, and I can understand her feelings. Sonja still has that darn townhouse weighing her down, but she expressed her frustration by taking it out on her friends. “Emotionally, I thought, ‘I just need to be done with these bitches and go back to my cave for a little while,'” Sonja said of her water experience. Ultimately, Luann started throwing ice at her friends and everyone drank enough wine at lunch to forget about Sonja’s meltdown. Honestly, it was for the best.
The Ramonacoaster comes out
It was evident throughout the first five episodes of RHUGT Season 4 that Ramona was trying to be on her best behavior. She was overly complimentary to the staff and patient, but too much wine at the final lunch made that all come crashing down. Ramona had a meltdown because Martin, the house manager, lost her underwear in the laundry. A classic case of the Singer Stinger.
Ramona followed Martin into the laundry room to complain about not having clean underwear. She ended up sobbing in his arms while berating him. “Don’t take my laundry if you can’t be responsible,” Ramona said. Her meltdown even extended to the production crew as she drunkenly paraded through the cameras in search of some underwear.
Her clothes were found in Dorinda’s room and Ramona gave Martin a sincere apology. Ironically, an astrologer was at the house and called Ramona a “diplomatic” person, which even she questioned. That is after the astrologer had to wake up Ramona from a nap mid-reading. “I guess the charts can’t be right with everybody,” Kristen said. You can say that again.
Kelly and Kristen find common ground, sort of
Another hilarious moment from the astrology session was when it came to Kristen and Kelly. The astrologer hypothesized that the two were either best friends or huge triggers to one another because they were so similar. “We’re definitely in trigger mode. Maybe another trip we’ll be best friends,” Kelly joked.
The two discussed “getting off on the wrong foot” during the final dinner of the trip. However, as pointed out by Kelly, there never seemed to be any resolve. “I’m not sure if we ever got onto the right foot,” she said. Much like the Sonja situation, this is one fight I don’t need a happy ending for. Rather, these two should be put on another girls’ trip ASAP to watch the chaos continue.
Dorinda shows her frisky side
A lot was riding on Dorinda’s disco. The ladies invited everyone on the island, from acquaintances to strangers on the street, to party it up for their last night. Dorinda woke up ready to go, joking with Manu, the sous chef, about him being a gigolo. From then on, it was off to the races with Miss Make It Nice. “I may even have a date by the end of the night,” Dorinda teased. “Stranger things have happened.”
Dorinda came to play at her disco with a see-through dress, knee-high red platform boots and a bubble machine, which is the magic formula for fun. She jumped into the pool with Lu fully clothed, resulting in her chicken cutlets floating away and leaving little to the imagination. Dorinda was sexually dancing with everyone, from the men to the edge of the pool, and living her best life. Sonja remarked that she had never seen D so frisky in her life. “I did dry hump her the first night so I’m the one that started her engines,” Sonja realized. “I’m like the fluffer.” Dorinda ultimately went to bed alone that night, but the same can’t be said for the Countess.
Lu’s happy ending
There was absolutely no way Luann was going to finish this trip without getting laid. She started the episode by swim-stalking a hot man in the ocean only to find out he was married. At the disco, she showed up with her platinum-blonde bob wig and an intent to talk to any and every man she could.
The next morning when the ladies headed to the airport, Luann’s smile gave away all the dirty details about the “afterparty” in her room. She claimed she’d never kiss and tell, but a sneaky camera revealed she slept with Manu, the sous chef/gigolo, before leaving the villa. Peacock did this man dirty by showing his naked body wandering through Lu’s room after she attempted to cover the camera, but there seem to be no hard feelings (no pun intended).
“Now that’s what I call a happy ending,” Lu said. Bravo, please get this exact same group back on a plane ASAP. I cannot live without them.
