It all started with a Finsta and a dream. After secretly creating a Jen Shah take-down account, Monica Garcia earned a snowflake on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Overall, Monica nailed her debut showing, and at the RHOSLC Season 4 reunion, she even earned herself a first-position seat, right next to Andy Cohen. Needless to say, Monica brought the drama on Bravo.
Unfortunately, Monica’s antics were next level. Now, everything is messy, not just on-air but off-air as well. Therefore, the rumor mill is already spouting tales about Monica’s exit from filming. On this, let’s examine the evidence, trying to discern whether or not Monica will return for RHOSLC Season 5.
Monica Might Not Have Any Co-Stars to Film With
When Heather Gay revealed to the cast that Monica was the one running the Reality Von Tease account, the ladies first appeared shocked. Their disbelief quickly turned to sadness, until finally, they all became pissed off. It was an emotional roller coaster, to say the very least.
In speaking to Variety, Heather is now stating that she will never film with Monica, like, ever again. Additionally, Heather and Monica are currently locked into a lawsuit. Basically, Heather’s side is asking for Monica to pay her bills at Heather’s med spa, while Monica is claiming that her services received were botched. Should Monica return, it’s clear that she will not have a friend, nor a filming partner, in Heather.
Likewise, viewers suspect that Monica stole a clutch from Meredith Marks store, as well as Lisa Barlow‘s $60K ring, which mysteriously went missing in a restroom in Season 4.
These suspicions, paired with Heather’s big reveal, are seeing the other ladies (minus Mary Cosby) all siding with Heather. This season, Mary only appeared as a friend-of, but when asked by E! News if she wanted to return for Season 5, this controversial Housewife replied, “Yeah, maybe. Only because I feel like I’m here for Monica [Garcia], and if I need to be full cast to make sure she gets where she’s going, I’m here to support her.”
Mary is right, she needs to return in a full-time capacity to help Monica. Otherwise, Monica might not have anyone to film with for Season 5, which could see her being quickly canned from this series.
Monica Might Not Even Be Asked Back
Shortly after the Season 4 finale aired, Monica went live on Instagram. On her personal account, Monica answered a fan, who had asked about the likelihood of her returning for another season of filming. “I have not been asked back yet. I have no idea. So I do not know yet,” Monica replied.
As for Lisa’s take, she tweeted, “When you play all of your cards, you’re out.” Lisa also responded to the same question that Monica was asked on her own since-expired Instagram Live. However, her reply was also a big non-answer, as she stressed “That’s way above my pay grade. That’s a Bravo thing.”
No matter what Monica or her co-stars might want, or not want, Lisa is right. Monica’s return lies in Bravo’s hands first. If Bravo says yes, Monica can then make a decision on how she wishes to proceed, by either running far away, or, returning for RHOSLC Season 5.
Almost All of the Cast Has Unfollowed Monica
As Heather stated on-air, the original cast of RHOSLC is ride-or-die for each other’s causes. We hated watching this truth when a few of the ladies defended Jen’s fraudulent schemes, but that’s a whole different story… Now that the Season 4 reunion has taped though, we are questioning this ride-or-die narrative, as two cast members still follow Monica, which isn’t much, but it’s more than just having Mary alone in her corner.
After double-checking, I can confirm what the internet is saying. Mary and Whitney Rose still follow Monica, and Monica follows them both back in return. Interestingly, Monica also still follows Meredith, but Meredith has since unfollowed Monica. Even still, Monica’s future on RHOSLC isn’t looking too bright, as all of these unfollows prove that she is standing mostly alone on on a wintry island in Utah.
Monica Is Now Disengaging From RHOSLC
A lot must have gone down at the RHOSLC Season 4 Reunion, so now, we need this to air, stat! Basically, what we are seeing post-reunion is that Monica appears to be putting space in between herself and this series. Case in point, in a re-shared Instagram post, Monica replied to a viewer, who in all caps began, “THE MONICA SHOW!!!! Can’t believe we won’t have you on our screens anymore for a while.”
At this, Monica replied to this fan, writing, “Or maybe never again.” This isn’t the only sign though that Monica is beginning to disengage from her series. One quick look at Monica’s Instagram bio will also show you that she has removed her Real Housewives tag, labeling herself now as an “Entrepreneur.” We’ve seen cast members do this before, usually following tough seasons, or, their departure from their individual series.
Out of all of the signs that we have seen thus far, this one is our biggest red flag, warning us that Monica might not be returning for RHOSLC Season 5.
