Chrisley Knows Best alum Julie Chrisley will celebrate her birthday a little differently this year. Right now Julie is in the slammer serving time for bank fraud and tax evasion. Her husband Todd Chrisley is also in jail and he has several birthdays to look forward to behind bars.
While the couple have had their combined sentences reduced, they are also hoping for a Hail Mary this year. Both Todd and Julie are appealing their case and have never admitted any wrongdoing. Now Julie’s family is preparing to visit and acknowledge her 51st trip around the sun, they also think it will be the last birthday in custody. Sure, Jan. People has the details.

Insiders close to the Chrisley family say Julie isn’t thrilled about her current situation, but the “love of her family” is enough to keep her from completely losing it.
Julie turns 51 today and will be visited by Savannah Chrisley, Grayson Chrisley, and Chloe Chrisley. No word on whether or not Chase Chrisley will take a break from the dating life and visit Mommy in her Kentucky cell.
The family’s lawyer shared Julie is remaining “hopeful” during her trying times. “Julie is strong and optimistic and certainly doesn’t want to be behind bars for her birthday. But she’s hopeful that with the appeal, this will be the last birthday that she does spend on bars,” he said.
But are they being optimistic for no good reason? There is “no real update” regarding the appeal process. Additionally, the dates for Julie and Todd’s oral arguments have been moved from March to April of this year. “It’s like a Supreme Court arguing with different judges. So it’s just the judges and the lawyers,” the attorney added.
Originally Julie was to spend seven years in prison but her term was lessened to five years in September 2023. While it’s unlikely Todd and Julie will be released, getting the appeal heard in the first place was a big deal.
Savannah previously explained, ”Only about 6 percent of cases that are submitted for oral arguments get accepted. So this is huge news. We get to go and argue why Mom and Dad should be home. So, God is good.” God also doesn’t like tax evasion and liars, so good luck to them.
