Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast has been giving fans some of the most interesting looks into what Bravo is like behind the cameras. With host Alex Baskin interviewing some of Bravo’s most prominent producers and stars, insight abounds.
Recently, reality TV veteran Larsa Pippen had a turn in the hot seat. The Real Housewives of Miami stalwart sat alongside producer Matt Anderson to discuss all things RHOM. With Season 6 still in progress, there was plenty to discuss.
However, for some portion, Alex decided to turn back the clock and set sights on a past encounter. If the Hot Mic Podcast has taught us anything, it’s that Housewives can get testy with producers, and Larsa was no exception.
Larsa’s fight with Guerdy: what the edit didn’t show
Alex asked what the greatest moment of tension ever was between Larsa and Matt. Larsa explained there were instances when she’d called Matt and said, “‘You have to show everything. You have to show everything,’ because there’s so much that we film.” Matt jumped in and said, “A lot of stuff is said and then eventually you have to condense it down to a six-minute piece.”
He continued, “Not everyone’s gonna be happy with that in a conflict.” Larsa added some specifics: “For instance, this week, I go to lunch with Guerdy [Abraira] and we fight like cats and dogs for 30 minutes.” That’s when she admitted her cancer diagnosis. Larsa explained that since they’d already been arguing for 30 minutes, she was still in “a mode” of arguing.
As Larsa put it, “The audience is like, ‘She’s so insensitive. How is she so insensitive?’” since viewers didn’t see the preamble. Larsa continued, “No, I was shocked.” Matt agreed that she was confused. Larsa went on, “I’ve never had issues with this person. But we’re fighting over I don’t even know what.” Larsa went on to restate her beef with Guerdy talking to “blogs” about her.
Larsa then tried to explain that she thought Guerdy’s request for confidence was specifically about the media. Sounds like revisionist history, but sure, whatever Larsa. With all this, Larsa said she called Matt “at four o’clock in the morning” to gripe. Still, Matt said, “I’m here for you … I told her she had to ride this season out.”
The Real Housewives of Miami continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
