Former Tom Tom Bartenders Suing Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd for Wrongful Termination

It wouldn’t be a regular news week without another lawsuit against Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, sure. And yes, Lisa and Ken might be easy targets for their wealth and notoriety.

However, the sheer volume of lawsuits against Todd and Vanderpump would seem to suggest something’s up. No smoke without fire, and all that. Of course, lawsuits tend to be par for the course when working in reality TV. Perhaps that suggests something about reality TV stars more broadly.

Still, by broadcasting her life and business to the world via Vanderpump Rules, Lisa would’ve certainly known how the media would latch onto stories like these. So, the suits pile up, and more stories like those of two former bartenders keep on coming.

Tom Tom had “sewage and backup” issues

On January 11, The Blast reported on information from court documents they’d obtained regarding a lawsuit against Ken and Lisa from two former Tom Tom employees. The reasons for suing include both wrongful termination as well as “unsafe work conditions.” For example, the suit cited “sewage and backup in the employee break/locker room.”

But that may be just the tip of the iceberg. The former employees worked as bartenders between May 2022 and December 2022. The suit states that “During this period, [the former bartenders] experienced rampant violations of California labor laws, harassment, and unsafe working conditions.” Reportedly, when the employees complained about conditions, they were fired.

Beyond that, one of the former employees accused Ken of ‘blacklisting’ him “by defaming him to future employers.” He explained that Ken and Lisa were “publishing false statements and comments to numerous third parties” relating to his “profession, reputation and character.” He further claimed the “rumors and false statements were made with actual malice.”

As VPR fans likely know, Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval are junior partners of Tom Tom. However, it’s unlikely either will face any consequences for this. As for LVP and Ken? That remains to be seen.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premieres Tuesday, January 30 at 8/7c on Bravo.
