Who knew that BravoCon could be an emotional experience? Apparently, for Kelly Bensimon, feeling all of the fan love was so touching that she almost broke down into tears!
Kelly recently spoke with Yahoo Canada about her experience filming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. After just one quick trip to St. Barths, she went from being a notorious former Housewife to a RHUGT superstar.
Her return to Bravo meant that she scored her first-ever invitation to BravoCon in 2023, and she said that getting a second taste of Bravo stardom has been incredibly moving.
Nothing feels better than feeling the love
Kelly starred on Real Housewives of New York City from Season 2 to Season 4. Back then, social media was in its infancy, and nobody had any idea that years later, there would be an entire convention celebrating all things Bravo.
Kelly is from the era of Real Housewives where they would write blogs about each other that would land on Bravo’s website. It was basically like writing hieroglyphs on cave walls. So, when Kelly was invited back to the Bravo universe for RHUGT, she stepped into a whole new world, driven by social media.
Kelly explained, “When I was on the show, there was no social media, it was in the ice age. So we are the game changers, we’re the pioneers, we’re the ones that paved this road.”
At BravoCon when Kelly came face-to-face with thousands of Scary Island-obsessed fans, she said the experience was overwhelming. She had to fight back the tears, and she shared that it was one of the highlights of her Bravo return.
Kelly said, “One of the biggest moments, even before the show aired, was when I went to BravoCon and the outpour of love from all the fans. I was so moved, I almost started crying on stage.”
As far as we know, Kelly managed to keep her emotions in check throughout BravoCon weekend. She appeared on a handful of panels discussing RHUGT, RHONY, and her upcoming wedding. There were no tears in sight, but she was holding them back!
