Newbie housewife Monica Garcia roared into Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City like an avalanche. She was a single mom and seemed relatable and down-to-earth for about two minutes. And she was heavily involved in all of the season’s drama.
Monica used to work for Jen Shah, who is now serving time in prison for a telemarketing scheme. The newest Salt Lake City housewife was a government witness against Jen. And in an RHOSLC confessional, she admitted to knowing secrets about the cast. Meanwhile, Monica also had dreams of being “a star.”
Well, during the finale, Heather Gay ripped back the curtain and exposed Monica as being involved in the snarky Reality Von Tease account. With all that has transpired, will Monica’s dreams of fame still come true?
Monica Wants To Be Famous
Audio messages from Monica were leaked by Instagram user, The Real Andy of Beverly Hills, and the clips made it clear what Monica’s intentions were.
She wondered about destroying her “credibility or name or future … Look, at the end of the day, my goal is to be a star, bitch,” Monica stated. She said she was “kinda joking, but also kinda serious” in another clip.
During the first part of the Season 4 RHOSLC reunion, Heather played another damning audio clip of Monica. Monica claimed that she was acting as Jen’s friend and assistant. But Heather insisted that Monica was just trying to find a way to get on RHOSLC.
“Kim Kardashian was a f*cking assistant, and look at that bitch now. I can fully admit that the whole reason why I was an assistant and putting up with that sh*t was as a stepping stone, as a learning experience,” Monica said in the audio clip. Well, there is no doubt that Monica had ambitions to be a star.
Will Reality Von Tease Ruin Monica’s Chances of Being a Star?
According to Monica, the Reality Von Tease account was created to take down Jen. But Heather, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, and Meredith Marks were also victims of cyberbullying.
Monica tried to deny her involvement but finally admitted that she did post about Jen. “I didn’t say sh*t about anyone else other than Jen and I will own that to the grave,” Monica screamed during the finale dinner from the Bermuda Triangle. She also referred to the four OGs as “collateral damage” in her confessional. Ouch!
While Heather said that her longtime hairdresser, Tenesha Luckett, shared receipts showing that Monica was allegedly behind the Reality Von Tease account, Monica had a different story. She accused Tenesha of creating the account and claimed that others were also involved.
With all the back and forth and receipts flying, it was clear that both Monica and Tenesha had a role in Reality Von Tease. Some fans wondered if Bravo producers knew that Monica was linked to the account before she was cast. According to Page Six, the show’s producers weren’t aware of the connection.
Will Anything Derail Monica’s Dreams of Fame?
With all the news coverage because of the RHOSLC finale bombshell, Monica is almost a household name. Of course, she has been exposed as being a liar. She lied about being in Meredith’s store before.
Monica tried to forge relationships with several of the cast members. She is a master of deception. Her friendship with Heather, which spanned all season, seems calculated in hindsight.
Fans think that the entire meeting with her family in Bermuda was fake. Asking Lisa to go with her to visit her family in Bermuda was random. We watched Monica’s meltdown when the meeting was canceled. She deserved an Emmy nod for her performance. All the cast rushed to comfort and console her.
At this point, Monica has ruined every relationship that she has with her co-stars. It is hard to see how she could fit in next season. But at the same time, she filled the void left by Jen. She was loud and outrageous. Remember when she announced that she had a months-long affair with her brother-in-law?
She also had moments that made the audience sympathize with her. Her seemingly toxic relationship with her mother and her financial struggles hit home with some fans.
Now that Monica’s secret has been revealed, I think it will help make her dreams of fame come true. All she has to do is return next season to RHOSLC and keep dropping the dark secrets that she supposedly knows.
