The fallout from that kiss shared by Austen Kroll and Taylor Ann Green continues on Southern Charm, and Shep Rose isn’t shying away from saying how Austen broke his heart with his cavalier behavior.
In an exclusive sneak peek shared by PEOPLE, Olivia Flowers laid out the timeline of her relationship with Austen. And while she clarified that they didn’t get together until after the cameras left, there was a full stretch of almost eight months of the pair traveling together and getting really close.
Semantics and loopholes
This relationship clarification comes on the heels of Taylor saying that Austen and Olivia were “not anything to begin with,” because they didn’t have the title of boyfriend and girlfriend. And this is why she didn’t feel bad about kissing her best friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Shep added to that and said that Austen never fully committed to the relationship so that he would still have loopholes that allowed him to claim he was technically single while also keeping Olivia in his life.
“It broke my f*cking heart seeing you like that,” Shep said. “Whatever, hey, and then you laughed about kissing Taylor.”
“Shep, I was following your lead,” came Austen’s reply.
In the early episodes of the new season, both Austen and Taylor lied about the extent of what went on between them in the wake of their respective breakups with Olivia and Shep. However, once Taylor told Olivia about the kiss, it pretty much ended their friendship.
The fallout continues
And during the reunion, the fallout continued. Shep admitted that having cameras in their face certainly didn’t help his relationship with Taylor, and he even said that without them, they might be married by now.
As for Olivia, she wasn’t holding back and laid into Taylor how her behavior after the kiss is what made it even worse than it was.
Instead of just taking the high road, Taylor lashed out when she felt cornered and hinted that Olivia had a similarly taboo hookup with another cast member, Thomas Ravenel, while she was friends with Thomas’ ex.
Olivia replied that she was just out of college and had made a mistake, telling Taylor that she was the only person she told about that mistake, and she couldn’t believe that Taylor was trying to use that secret against her.
Needless to say, Olivia already thinks Taylor is “a sh*t friend,” and now she’s confirmed that Taylor is a “sh*t human” too.
