Monica Garcia of the Real Housewives Salt Lake City has yet to decide whether or not she will return for a sophomore season. However, fans already have their fingers, arms, and legs crossed in hopes that she comes back. Since the loss of Jen Shah, arguably one of the most volatile Real Housewives ever to grace the screen, viewers were worried that the Snowflake franchise wouldn’t make the cut. Cue Monica, a mother of four daughters who had nothing to lose but everything to gain.
As Taylor Swift once sang, “What if I told you I’m a mastermind? And now you’re mine. It was all by dеsign. ‘Cause I’m a mastermind.” I am almost positive Monica knew exactly what she was doing when it came to her time on the series. From day one, Monica had a plan and utilized her skills to wiggle her way into being one of the best Real Housewives rookies we’ve seen in years. Even though she caused some major backlash amongst the women, I don’t want to see her go. Sadly, I am addicted to the drama.
Every Moment Has Been Entertaining
From the second Monica walked into the shopping boutique and laid all her cards out on the table, she has been a standout cast member. Throughout RHOSLC Season 4, there was never a dull moment, thanks to her admission of a years-long affair with her brother-in-law and sharing her unsavory mugshot on social media. What came as most surprising was the fact that she was a witness in Jen’s trial even though neither woman was on the show at the same time.
Monica and her bag of tricks were meant to add entertainment value. Fans like myself couldn’t believe the relationship she had with her mother. I’m also not embarrassed to admit that I loved watching their epic meltdown on Greek Easter, which included Ms. Linda taking her daughter’s car. I mean, who honestly takes a grown woman’s automobile as punishment?!
Monica Is a Fan Favorite
I don’t use the term fan favorite lightly, but I believe that Monica has earned the moniker. Bravo fan account @queensofbravo asked whether or not Monica should return for Season 5. The answer was an overwhelming yes. While a few noted that she shouldn’t return if she is dealing with mental health issues due to her mother, one fan commented, “Absolutely. Without her, this current season would have been boring and stale. They need to find a way to work with her because no one else has anything worthwhile going on that people want to watch.”
Another excited fan added, “It would be a catastrophic mistake on Bravo’s part if they didn’t bring her back. No newbie has ever come as strong like Monica has. She was made for this!!” Yet another viewer shared, “I really want her to. She’s a perfect housewife blend. She’s funny, messy, real, boisterous, and shady. All in one and relatable to the lower income viewers.”
The positive response to Monica as a housewife doesn’t lie—she was made for this line of work.
Monica, Like the Cheese, Stands Alone
If Monica does choose to come back for another season—and she should—it would be extremely captivating to watch her standing alone with no ally. Currently, she really has no other co-star willing to go to bat for her. The RHOSLC Season 4 finale revealed Monica to have been the one running an exposure account. After learning that, it’ll be tough for any of the women to be so open with Monica. If Monica does return, it could be a dull season where the women don’t want to share anything too sensitive on camera.
But if Monica can get back into the women’s good graces, Season 5 could be her vindication. Currently, Monica has yet to be asked back. But if she did, the drama would be tremendous, though potentially problematic if no one will engage with her. Even if she isn’t asked back in full capacity, I could see Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in her future because Monica is TV gold. Honestly, RHOSLC needs Monica as much as she needs it, so let’s get those cameras rolling.
