Ariana Madix is fully in a new phase of her life as she approaches the one-year mark since Scandoval and her highly-publicized breakup with ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval. She seems to be happy with her new beau, Daniel Wai, but was the relationship too soon, too fast?
Ariana doesn’t think so. As the anniversary of her heartbreak approaches, she opens up about the transformative journey she’s been on since then.
Ariana spoke with ET on the red carpet of Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premiere. She touched on the criticism she’s faced about her new relationship and her upcoming Broadway debut.
Ariana is moving on, in a new relationship
It’s no secret Ariana was devastated to discover her boyfriend, Tom, was having an affair with her friend Rachel Leviss. And we all had a front-row seat to see how all that went down. It was messy, it was painful, and it wasn’t easy for her to get past.
But time moves on, as all things do, and Ariana eventually found solace and love in a new relationship. Although it may have seemed fast to outside eyes just a month after Scandoval broke, no one can guess what happens behind closed doors.
“I didn’t jump into another relationship,” Ariana clarified. “I met a guy, and we were having a good time; I got to know him, and things evolved. I didn’t just say, ‘Hi, nice to meet you, let’s get into a relationship.’”
As for her ex, Ariana is in a better place. They don’t speak, but they can be in the same space. “Everyone on the production team is so supportive, and they never put me in a position where I feel super uncomfortable,” she shared of filming Pump Rules Season 11.
She is also awaiting the judge’s ruling about her seeking a “partition by sale” of the home she and Tom bought in 2019.
Ariana says hello to a new working relationship, on Broadway
And it’s not just a new relationship that has Ariana feeling giddy these days. She’s also looking forward to her upcoming Broadway debut. The VPR star will be part of a limited eight-week run of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre in New York at the end of the month through March.
“It feels crazy to say,” she admitted. “It’s absolutely the number one dream of my whole life to be on Broadway, so it feels good. I’m glad it’s something that keeps me busy.”
Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules premieres on Bravo on January 30.
