Real Housewives of Salt Lake City rookie, Monica Garcia, has found herself backed into a corner after it was revealed she was the troll account Reality Von Tease. As Season 4 started, Monica came across as a breath of fresh air. She brought plenty of family drama and spoke her truth when it came to her scandalous life. Monica wasn’t afraid to open up about her salacious divorce, which was due to her sleeping with her brother-in-law.
She also bonded with Heather Gay over leaving the LDS church and the trauma they had both faced. Being Jen Shah‘s former assistant added to the allure as she most likely knew secrets. But after an entire season, it seems fans have no idea who the real Monica actually is.
Everything fell apart for her during the season finale. For years, the OG Salt Lake City housewives have been tormented by the social media account. According to Monica, it was set up to bring down Jen; the rest were just collateral damage. Monica was a witness against the former housewife and felt she had done the right thing by telling everything she knew. After inserting herself into the group and really connecting with most of the ladies, the mother of four is coming across as a liar. Fans are shocked her pants haven’t caught fire, especially after learning Monica has changed her name multiple times.
Will The Real Monica Please Stand Up
Everyone is confused by Monica’s multiple identities. She has used four names in total, and to be honest, it can get a bit confusing. After Andy Cohen asked the pretty obvious question of which name she went by, Monica answered that her married name was Fowler. When asked, “What’s Delgado?” Monica noted, “That’s my dad’s side.” The web got even more tangled as Monica tried to explain her many aliases.
The Bravo star noted that Darnell and “Garcia is my mother’s side. My mother was born, ‘Linda Darnell Susan Maria Garcia.’ When she was growing up, she was teased for being a Portagee in Boston, and she was called sp*ck all the time, and it stuck with her. I don’t know, so when she became of legal age, she wiped her entire name off because she was ashamed of it and just kept Linda Darnell. So when I was born, I was Linda Darnell.”
Which Three Names Did Monica Use Legally?
Monica was named after her mother, “Monica Linda Darnell,” which was given at birth. But the rookie acknowledged that particular name “means nothing to me.” She revealed she wanted to use a “family name” after her divorce. For fans who could keep up, Monica revealed, “I legally have only ever used three, which is the one I was born with, when I got married, and when I got divorced.”
Don’t feel that bad if all the names have you confused because even her mother got turned upside down, noting in an episode that her daughter changed her name “every fu*king week.”
Monica Emailed Casting
During the reunion, part one and part two, a lot was learned about Monica, including how badly she and her mother wanted to be a part of the show. Monica revealed she followed up with production, sharing, “I emailed the email for casting. I said my name is Monica Fowler. And said your show sucks, and your ratings are sh*t, and it’s going to get canceled.” But instead of the blunt email, what she actually sent was “Reaching out in regards to your casting call. You guys need a feisty, excommunicated Latina on the show immediately!! I’m your girl! -Monica F.”
It became clear at this moment that Monica had an entire plan to ensure she was cast as the newest housewife. Whether she had to use four names, send aggressive emails, or make up a troll account, Monica was determined to get on TV, and she did just that while also leaving behind a trail of chaos.
