Vanderpump Rules OG Tom Schwartz can’t wait for viewers to catch Jo Wenberg’s debut on VPR in the upcoming season.
He spoke to US Weekly at the Pump Rules premiere party and shared why he thought Jo would be a good fit, along with the energy she brings to the cast, especially in light of the fallout from Scandoval.
Jo brings a new dynamic to Vanderpump Rules, according to Schwartz
“Honestly, I feel like Jo is a breath of fresh air,” Tom said. “She has a charisma and energy unlike anyone else I’ve ever met in my life. Not everyone loves that energy. I happen to be fond of it. But, she’s kind of like a superstar in her own right.”
Jo, a hairstylist based in Los Angeles, has had ties to the VPR group for years. She initially became friends with Kristen Doute and grew closer with Tom following his divorce from Katie Maloney in October 2022.
And it seems Tom continues to enjoy her company and is excited for viewers to see her on the show. He added, “She’s straight out of the Midwest — Wisconsin through and through. She’s got a beautiful soul, and yeah, man, I’m always rooting for her. Shoutout to Jo. If you need your hair done, hit her up. DM her.”
But could it be that his continued praise means more than friendship? In a deleted scene from VPR last season, Tom confessed that he was living with Jo. And by the reunion, he said that their friendship had evolved to a “situationship” or a “friends with benefits” deal, but with very clear boundaries.
He claims that they are just friends now, and VPR fans will see more of this play out in the new season.
As for Katie, she’s never been Jo’s biggest fan. When asked about the latter’s debut on VPR, Katie tried to play coy.
“Who?” she asked. ‘I don’t know. Somethings are avoidable, I guess.” She tried to remember if they filmed any scenes together and drew a blank.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
