Rebooting The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 14 was a huge risk. But the new cast delivered. And most fans were satisfied with the new vibe. Jessel Taank, who made Tribeca a household name, emerged as a fan favorite. But that’s not to say that RHONY viewers didn’t miss the original cast. One of these superstars, Sonja Morgan, always kept viewers entertained.
And she stayed booked and busy. Sonja starred in a spinoff with Luann de Lesseps, titled Welcome to Crappie Lake. They also starred in Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. I hope that RHONY Legacy gets another season. I loved seeing the old-school cast back together.
Jessel and Sonja are on this exclusive list
Now Sonja and Jessel are getting their due and have been recognized for their status in New York City. Both ladies were featured in PAPER Magazine’s “NYC Icons, Freaks and Legends” list. And they both shared a bit about their most iconic memories of New York City.
“I remember the first time I ever came to the city. I was in a yellow cab coming from JFK to the city and all of a sudden I saw the skyline,” Jessel told PAPER. She continued, “I completely teared up because it represents hope and an oasis of opportunity. In that moment, that’s when I knew I could become whatever I want.”
Meanwhile, Sonja reflected on a moment that was featured on RHONY. “When I had my fashion show for Sonja Morgan New York and it was filmed on Bravo,” she said. “The house was full and everyone was genuinely happy.”
Sonja also shared her favorite restaurant. “Definitely Scalinatella. It’s not really a fashion scene like you would see at L’Avenue,” she explained. “It’s discreet, nobody’s doing selfies or taking photos. Nobody has their eyes around the room, so for me, that can be very relaxing. And the food is the best ever, they have an amazing wine list.”
“I always take a victim who’s paying the bill, it’s very expensive.” Typical Sonja.
You can catch Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy and The Real Housewives of New York City streaming now on Peacock.
