So the Southern Charm Season 9 finale left a lot of broken relationships in its wake. But one that has managed to endure is Taylor Ann Green’s relationship with ex-boyfriend Shep Rose. Even after everything that’s transpired, they remain friends. Thankfully, Taylor’s new boyfriend doesn’t seem to mind.
Taylor recently shared additional details after the finale about where she stands with Shep — who she became involved with in 2020 but broke up after his admitted infidelity and commitment issues.
Enduring friendship
Turns out that friendship is stronger than drama, at least in Taylor and Shep’s case. Taylor talked about her relationship with her ex during an episode of the Viall Files podcast, including everything that happened with Austen Kroll, the kiss, and the fallout. While things with Olivia Flowers remain rocky, Taylor shared that she still considers Shep a good friend.
“Shep is the type of person that will always want to be friends with his exes,” Taylor said. “So after we broke up, he wanted to be friends right off the bat.” She told him that he had hurt her badly and she needed time and space first.
But she had a change of heart after her older brother passed, and he was there for her and her family. “After my brother’s passing, he drove up to be with my family and that he was really big,” she explained.
She was so touched by his support that she wiped the slate clean, and the pair rebuilt their relationship.
As for her new boyfriend, Gaston Rojas, he doesn’t seem to mind Taylor and Shep’s continued friendship as she assures him that they are strictly platonic.
“He gets it,” Taylor said. “He’s understanding and knows it’s a friendship and nothing more than that. In no way do I ever think Shep is trying to sneak his way back into my life, and in no way will I ever want to get back together with him.”
