The big RHOBH cast trip of Season 13 is here! Historically, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast trips haven’t gone so well. The Amsterdam trip was a legendary disaster, and last season’s Aspen trip led to Lisa Rinna and Kathy Hilton’s exit.
At first, the Barcelona trip seemed to be going okay. After promising to start fresh, Annemarie Wiley and Sutton Stracke got along fine. Erika Jayne and Garcelle Beauvais‘ surprise friendship was going strong. But things took a turn at dinner (of course), and after that, the trip quickly went from bad to worse. They’ve literally been there one day, and the RHOBH Season 13 trip is already a disaster.
The House Is Haunted
Almost immediately after the ladies arrived in Spain, the Airbnb host warned that the giant house was haunted by “little people ghosts.” The women immediately freaked out, and Garcelle was so scared she slept in her bestie Sutton’s room. Did a ghost break down Dorit Kemsley‘s closet, knowing that is the way to get to her?
Also, as we saw with Sutton in Crystal Kung Minkoff‘s room, the house has confusing doors. Anyone who watched Dorinda Medley get trapped in her room in Real Housewives Ultimate Girl’s Trip knows that’s a bad omen.
Annemarie vs. Crystal Is In Full Swing
Initially, Annemarie’s biggest sin on the RHOBH Barcelona trip seemed to be the ridiculous amount of luggage she brought. But of course, at dinner, she had to make things awkward. Annemarie acknowledged her comments about Sutton, and gave an unsatisfying apology for those “single and lonely” remarks. Then she turned from Sutton’s esophagus to her next arch nemesis—Crystal.
Annemarie tried to turn the whole cast against Crystal by claiming she called them “uneducated” and “shallow” and thought she was the only real socialite. The woman who talked endlessly about Sutton’s esophagus also said Crystal should thank her for “making your ass relevant.” Clearly, Annemarie lacks self-awareness, as she also called herself kind.
This dinner scene once again shows why Annemarie isn’t a great Housewife. Like her esophagus obsession, this confrontation seemed forced. Will she just spend the rest of the Barcelona trip picking on each RHOBH cast member to get more screen time?
Crystal’s Health Scare
At first, it just seemed like Crystal was car sick. But once she noticed her veins were popping out, it was clear this was something more serious. For some reason, both Kyle Richards and Annemarie considered this to be karma for Crystal questioning Annemarie’s profession.
In the preview of the next episode, Annemarie also showed her lack of bedside manner by commenting that she didn’t want Crystal to “stroke out,” when she was sitting right by Crystal. who had just expressed how scared she was that it seemed like stroke symptoms. That being said, it was nice of Annemarie to volunteer to accompany Crystal to the hospital.
Dorit Is Dorit-ing
Dorit’s Karen behavior, and the backlash from fans tired of her ignorance, continues. She was so angry about those alleged “uneducated” comments that she called Crystal a “child bride” in her confessional. Considering Crystal was 24 when she got married, this sure seemed like Dorit was leaning into a stereotype about Asian women. After all, Kyle got married at 19! Even if Dorit meant to shade Crystal’s 21-year age gap with Rob Minkoff, she surely wouldn’t say that about her other co-stars’ May-December relationships.
Dorit clearly underestimated Crystal, who has relentlessly shaded her on social media. Ultimately, Crystal is more popular, and more supported by RHOBH fans, than ever. And Dorit might be at risk of not getting asked back.
Erika Brought Up The Earrings…AGAIN
Season 13 has been Erika’s best in years. She’s come a long way with Garcelle, apologizing to Jax and understanding why Dorit’s words were microaggressions. Between that and leveling Denise Richards, many viewers actually enjoyed watching her again. But then she had to bring up those earrings.
If the moment wasn’t already awkward enough, a preview shows that Erika is still angry the other women didn’t apologize or support her more. Frankly, it was clear from everyone’s mumbled “congratulations” that no one wants to continue this storyline. But Erika’s inability to move on will probably make the RHOBH Season 13 Barcelona trip even more of a disaster.
Sutton’s Going Through It
Sutton has been the main character of Season 13, and that continues with the Barcelona trip. Especially because she plans to spread her mentor Merce Cunningham’s ashes (they’ve been in that ZipLock long enough).
Previews show that Sutton breaks down during the trip as it brings up feelings about her father’s suicide. Sutton and Kyle shared a moving moment in the church, but considering Sutton recently said she misses Kyle, it doesn’t seem like they stay made up for long.
