It’s hard to feel sympathy for Vanderpump Rules villain Tom Sandoval, regardless of how hard he tries. But one thing that could help Sandoval’s case would be expressing some remorse for his actions.
As we all know by now, in March of 2023, it was revealed that Sandy was cheating on longtime partner Ariana Madix. The kicker? It was with a castmate and good friend of the couple, Rachel Leviss. Thus Scandoval was born.
In the days and months that followed, Sandoval flubbed his way through multiple non-apologies and statements. He seemed to have zero remorse for his deception and betrayal. So has Sandoval learned his lesson from cheating all these months later?
Sandoval “loves hard” (and cheats harder)
On a recent appearance on the podcast The Viall Files, Sandy told host Nick Viall, “Am I ready to protect somebody’s heart? Yes, of course I am.” He then added, “I don’t know what to say except I fucked up, and I know that I did that. It doesn’t matter the scenario, it doesn’t matter. I fucked up, and I do know that. I do love hard, I really do.”
The longtime Pump Rules cast member went on to say that he was in a “vulnerable” state and threw “logic” out the window, along with “people’s feelings and Ariana’s feelings.”
He also noted that he “acted out because I have such low self-worth.” Sandoval continued, “Somebody like Raquel — somebody who’s in her 20s, like, doin’ essentially the fuckin’ whipped cream fuckin’ bikini thing like in Varsity Blues — like, I couldn’t fucking like, I was like, ‘Wow, really? Oh my God, like, I’m attractive to somebody?'” YIKES!
“And I regret it, hardcore, I really do,” Sandoval admitted, stating that all he could do was “learn from” the situation.
“I’m just trying to be a better person”
As far as what he’s learned, Sandoval shared, “I don’t know, dude. I’m just trying to be a better person, I swear to God, like I really am. Like, I don’t know what to say. What have I learned? What have I learned?! To not ever do that again. To not ever be in a nine-year fuckin’ relationship and end it that way [and] to not ever, like, cheat that way. Like, dude, I’m never gonna do that. That’s never gonna happen.”
When Nick pressed Sandoval on the exact meaning of “cheat that way,” the bar owner replied, “To have an affair, to have an affair!”
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
