Despite Ariana Madix’s popularity and successes, she’s no stranger to controversy, like the discussion surrounding her upcoming sandwich shop, Something About Her. The Vanderpump Rules star has poured over $1 million into the shop along with her friend Katie Maloney.
Despite the apparent resources spent on the restaurant, an opening has yet to arrive. Still, Katie and Ariana have recouped some of their losses by way of merch sales. The merchandise led some to believe the shop was never meant to be and the whole thing was just a cash grab.
The multiple delays in opening Something About Her confirmed to many that the whole operation was just a branding scam. However, Ariana has been steadfast in giving updates, and she just dropped a new one last week.
Ariana jokes over sandwich shop’s future staff issues
A reporter from The U.S. Sun attended Ariana’s recent Single AF: An Evening for Bad B*tches show in New York. At the show, Ariana got around to discussing Something About Her, saying, “I just talked to Katie earlier today and we are at a point now with permitting and everything that we, hopefully, I’m thinking in the next day or two, will have official word that we can just move into the fun stuff.”
She continued, “Which is actually being able to legally have the product in the actual restaurant and start getting this menu and this ordering and everything going.” Ariana then assured fans, “’Cause we have everything ready to go! So, like, literally the second that I have [an opening] day, you guys will know so hard because me and Katie are chomping at that motherf*cking bit so hard.”
She then joked, “We are just like … We can’t wait to have other issues. Like, I can’t wait to have issues of, like, staff calling out.” With all the criticism Ariana and Katie have fielded over this restaurant, one would hope things get up and running soon, for their sake. At this point, there’s no way the two could just quietly bury the business.
