Stassi Schroeder has come a long way since her time on Vanderpump Rules, and the ex-Bravo star recently revealed that a lot has changed.
The former SURver appeared on the Good Guys podcast with Josh Peck and spoke about all things under the sun, including some of her regrets regarding the early days of Vanderpump Rules. For those who need a refresher, Stassi’s run on the reality show was full of conflict, including cheating scandals, screaming matches, and physical fights. Although epic for the viewer, it’s something the now mother of two would like to change.
“I wrestle with it all the time, you know, moments where like I backhanded Kristen [Doute],” she began. “[I’m] not proud of that. I don’t like it. So, when people come up to me, they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh … that moment,’ … I feel like I let those people down when they meet me because I can’t react the way the way that they want to. I’m like, I don’t feel that way anymore. I was 23 years old. We shouldn’t be glorifying me backhanding someone.”
How does Stassi feel about other reality stars losing their cool?
Since Stassi can’t watch earlier seasons of VPR now without cringing at her behavior, does she get second-hand embarrassment for other reality stars as unhinged as she once was?
“No, because you know you can take those lemons and make [lemonade] out of them. You can always take something bad and make it something else. Like, truly. So, I don’t really think that way when I see other people doing stupid sh*t.”
Even though Stass hasn’t appeared on a Bravo show since departing Pump Rules in 2020, the NYT best-selling author doesn’t seem to miss the cameras that much. Her old pals from SUR — Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen — will return to the network this spring with their new series, The Valley.
Stassi explained why she declined to appear, adding that her relationships with the announced cast aren’t as strong as they once were.
“It’s a lot of different reasons. First of all, it wouldn’t be a reflection of what my reality is,” she said. “I’m not friends with any, you know, it’s just, it’s not my group of friends.”
