Dan Gheesling’s time on The Traitors has come to an end after being laid to rest by funeral director and Real Housewives star Phaedra Parks.
The two Traitors had a fiery exchange during last Thursday’s episode. After being criticized by his co-stars for playing too quiet of a game, Dan faced some heat during the roundtable and ultimately decided it was time to turn on his own.
As he saw, deflecting onto Phaedra, who has several seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and courtroom defense under her belt, wasn’t the brightest decision. To quote Dan from the episode, Phaedra “shredded” him. Today, he’s reflecting on his strategy and whether or not he underestimated his castmates; especially those from Bravo.
Dan explains why Bravo’s Real Housewives are great for The Traitors
As we’ve seen during Season 2 of The Traitors, the Real Housewives aren’t messing around — they’re coming for blood. And when asked if he thought others underestimated them in the game, Dan shared his thoughts.
“I do,” he told People. “Their familiarity with conflict is out of this world, so they can create situations to create conflict and chaos, and they can get themselves out, which is a huge part of these games.”
Before joining the series, it had been over a decade since Dan had played a reality competition show. Since being defeated by the Queen of Schemes in Episode 6, he revealed whether this was the last time we’d see him play.
“You haven’t seen me in 10 years, and I think this is it for me,” he said. “But it was one heck of a way to go out — just such a positive, fun, and wild experience that I’ll never forget.”
Before Dan signs off for good, he will film The Traitors’ reunion. There, he’s likely to get a sharp tongue-lashing from the ultimate shade master and his fellow Traitor. Will he be able to talk himself out of this one?
