Relationship expert (LOL) and Vanderpump Rules alum, Jax Taylor, has thoughts about how Katie Maloney speaks to Tom Schwartz. Viewers were introduced to Tom and Katie as a couple in Season 1. Even then, it was pretty evident that “The Bubbas” had a toxic trainwreck of a relationship. But, they still eventually got married in 2016. And unsurprisingly, they divorced in 2022.
One thing that’s been consistent all of these years is Katie roasting Tom. We’ve had a front row seat from Katie’s pre-wedding “let’s talk about how your dick doesn’t work,” Tom takedown all of the way up to her post-divorce “you’re like a serial killer’s wet dream” diss. Since he’s basically a Golden Retriever, he normally takes it in stride (not including that time he dumped a beer over her head).
On a recent episode of his podcast, Jax condemned Katie’s comments and commended Tom for the way he handles them.
Jax doesn’t appreciate Katie’s “backhanded digs” at Tom
During the February 1 episode of Jax and his wife Brittany Cartwright’s podcast, When Reality Hits, Jax interviewed Schwartz and complained about Katie taking public digs at him after their divorce. Jax also complimented Tom on how graciously he responds to her.
Jax explained, “I don’t appreciate the little digs that she gives. She gives a lot of backhanded digs. And then you go on top and you just kill it with kindness. And you’re just kind of like, ‘Well that’s okay. I understand.’ I wish I had that in me.”
Jax also pointed out an instance at the VPR panel during BravoCon 2023 where Katie compared Schwartz’s outfit to a couch.
“[Schwartz] can just take it with, like, a grain of salt. I know this is an old thing — when she said you look like a couch or something, that stuck with me – I’m like how could you say something like that? Have you seen how she dresses? I’m not trying to do a dig at her. But come on. It’s not like you are a fashion icon. I just think take the high road. You’re a grown [expletive] woman.”
Oof. How dare Katie’s outfit choices force me to agree with Jax on something!
Tom said he wasn’t bothered by Katie’s couch comment. He noted that they’re now “on good terms.” But, he hinted at some “weird situations” between him and his ex-wife as Season 11 continues.
When did Jax Taylor become the judge of how to appropriately handle anything? So insightful for him to point out that he’d be incapable of taking the high road. Does he forget we’ve seen him lie, repeatedly cheat, repeatedly lie about cheating, AND steal all on camera?
