Todd and Julie Chrisley ‘Haven’t Spoken’ in Over a Year, Phone Calls Not Being Approved

Todd and Julie Chrisley from Chrisley Knows Best have had the worst of times since beginning their prison sentences. Not only are their children, Savannah and Chase Chrisley, speaking out about their parents’ poor living conditions while locked away – including mold and no air conditioning – but sources close to the married couple are revealing they’ve been unable to speak to each other for over a year.

The famous reality couple turned themselves into authorities in January 2023 to begin their combined 19-year prison sentence. Although Todd and Julie have been able to communicate with their children, according to “trusted sources” close to Radar Online, the duo have been unable to speak to each other since surrendering.

The publication was told the Federal Bureau of Prisons usually allows supervised phone calls between partners once a month. They also noted that’s “pretty standard.” However, Todd’s warden “refuses” to approve the request. This led to others to believe it’s “retaliation” for speaking out about his experiences behind bars.

One year down, 18 to go

Since being some of the latest reality stars to begin their stint in federal prison, Todd and Julie’s children have made their concerns regarding their parents’ living conditions (and the legal system as a whole) widely known. In a December 2023 interview, Todd said he believed the staff at his current prison were attempting to “blackmail him.”

“There are recordings of staff members here talking about, ‘He needs to be humbled,’” he said. “There was a photograph taken of me while I was sleeping and sent to my daughter, asking for $2,600 a month for my protection.”

Despite the challenges, the Chrisley family remain hopeful their time in prison is nearing its end. Their lawyer shared in December 2023 that the family is “hoping and believing” that their appeal hearing, set for April 2024, will be the turning point. It could lead the judge to give “full consideration” and reverse their convictions.

For now, they’ll have to sit tight a little while longer.
