Kandi Burruss is leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but not before showing Andy Cohen some love.
The “No Scrubs” writer revealed during her recent episode of Speak On It that Andy has always supported her goals with the network from the moment she joined the cast, including her many spinoffs. She also recalled a memory from 2020 when she wrote a letter to Bravo and RHOA’s production company during the Back Lives Matter protests asking for change, adding Andy was quick to rally behind her. “He was open to hear me,” she said.
“So, when people be hating on him, trying to say, ‘Oh, he’s this or he’s that,’ don’t believe the hype. I mean, he may not be perfect, but he’s definitely tried to look out. For me, as a Black woman, and for the things that I’ve tried to do to push things in a positive direction for us as Black people, he’s definitely supported, not just where everybody can hear it … but behind the scenes as well.”
There’s more to come from Bravo and Kandi
After Kandi announced her exit from RHOA on the Grammy’s red carpet, the Bravo vet revealed how the Watch What Happens Live host responded to the news.
“Andy called me, and he was like, ‘What the F? I don’t know how I feel about this,’ [and] I was like, ‘Well, I don’t know how I feel about it either,’” she revealed. Later on his radio show, SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, he praised Kandi for her “unbelievable run” after 14 consecutive seasons.
In her video, Kandi continued to share about her and Andy’s special bond. “That’s a relationship I take from this and plan to continue and continue to show him love like he shows me love. I appreciate him in so many ways,” Kandi stated.
Before wrapping up, Kandi left her viewers with some good news, sharing that her relationship with Bravo wasn’t over. “I will give you more information in the coming weeks; I just had to tell you guys to stay tuned.”
“Stay tuned; I’m always going to be part of the Bravo family.”
Although nothing is official yet, if that means another Kandi spinoff is coming, we just hope it is the second season of Kandi and The Gang.
