Lisa Barlow had a heck of a season sparring with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie Monica Garcia. Communication broke down on multiple occasions when the RHOSLC one hit wonder was reduced to callous comments and rude rebuttals.
The two ladies, simply put, triggered each other. But, Lisa held her composure better than her younger counterpart. While it was entertaining to watch, it was a bit toxic. And between that and her moonlighting as Reality Von Tease, Monica was not asked back for a sophomore season on the hit reality TV show.
Lisa “wasn’t shocked by” Monica’s RHOSLC firing
Fans would certainly be interested in Lisa’s response to the news, given her strained relationship with Monica all season. And during a recent event to highlight a new partnership with Clorox, Lisa told Hollywood Life that she wasn’t at all surprised by the news that broke late last month.
“It wasn’t a shock, but it was also something we didn’t know,” Lisa said about the firing. “Bravo doesn’t call us and say, ‘Hey guess what, Monica isn’t coming back.’ You find out by who shows up for things. I wasn’t shocked by it.”
The Vida Tequila founder suggested that her former co-star blew a big opportunity by not being honest about who she was and what she did on the side. How can you be on a reality TV show and hide something so volatile?
“We all are given an opportunity and it’s what we do with that opportunity that creates longevity in a situation,” Lisa explained. “I think the way Monica went into this … it was like deceit, and then she was caught, so she had to come clean because there were proof, receipts, timelines. I’m not really surprised.”
Lisa is said to be returning for Season 5 alongside Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks, and Angie Katsanevas. Filming resumed on February 5.
