Savannah Chrisley Recalls Taking Bottle of Pain Pills at 15 Amid Depression Battle

Savannah Chrisley is getting real about the time she took a bottle of pills, hoping to end her life, during a recent podcast interview.

The reality star, known for her family’s show, Chrisley Knows Best, was a recent guest on the Adversity Advantage Podcast. She spoke about how the pressure of being famous intensified her mental health struggles down the road, leading her to reach “an all-time low that I finally got to a point where I was like, alright, I can’t do this anymore,” she revealed.

“That was one time at 15, and then again at 18, and then at 22, I finally started going to therapy,” she shared. “It wasn’t until I was 22 years old that I was like, alright, I need to go to therapy. I can’t do this by myself.”

Savannah details this scary moment in her life

Later in the interview, Savannah detailed the emotional moment she swallowed a bottle of pills and how addiction has impacted her family.

“I never struggled with addiction,” she said. “At that time, I was 15. And you really don’t know at 15 if you’re going to end your life what that looks like. I think for me, it was just a moment where I wanted to be heard, and I was so afraid of being honest about the things I was struggling with that I was like, alright, I just want to be heard.”

“… that was the biggest thing for me because I’ve never been one, and I think because addiction does run in my family, I’ve always been very conscientious of that and of not going down that avenue,” she continued. “I like to think I have a strong mindset of, ‘I’m not going to do that, and I don’t do it.’”

Ever since her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, began serving their combined 19-year prison sentence in January 2023, Savannah has revealed many shocking truths about their life behind bars. She’s spoken about Julie’s living conditions, including mold and no air conditioning, and the alleged blackmail attempt against Todd.

Although NBCUniversal axed their family’s reality shows following the sentencing news, Savannah promised her fans she, her siblings, and Nanny Faye would be back on TV before we know it.
