WWE’s Maryse Mizanin To Undergo Hysterectomy After Precancer Diagnosis

Okay am I the only one who watched Miz & Mrs.? It was a spinoff of Total Divas starring Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and his wife Maryse Mizanin. I watched the wrestling reality shows because I have two teenage boys and no other choice in the matter.

That said, Mike and Maryse are a very cute couple. They also had two beautiful little girls during Miz & Mrs. which ran for three seasons. You might also know Mike from the WWE and if you are of a certain age like myself, Season 10 of The Real World.

Life in the reality world is all about keeping it real. Both good and bad. With that, Maryse is now revealing some news that could help other women in the future.

If you think something is wrong, go to the doc

Don’t get it twisted. Before Maryse was Mrs. Mizanin, she was a force in the WWE on her own. But she gained a whole new set of fans when dipping her toe in the world of unscripted television. Keeping those followers informed, Maryse shared some news about a health scare on Instagram.

The mom of two will have a hysterectomy after her physicians located eleven precancerous tumors on her ovaries. Ladies, this is why we keep our insides straight with check-ups.

“I had been suffering from severe abdominal distention and swelling to the point where I would look 6 months pregnant,” Maryse said. “Lots of GI issues, including sibo, multiple rounds of antibiotics, extreme fatigue and just wasn’t feeling like myself! For the past year, my symptoms would come in flare-ups and it progressively got worse – it became chronic,” she explained.

This is someone who takes care of her body because keep in mind, her job used to rely on that body working. She saw “countless doctors in different fields” and went through multiple diagnostic tests. Maryse was advised it was “probably hormonal” or an allergic reaction. Here’s where I remind the class to advocate for yourselves when seeking health care.

Thankfully seeing the right doctor changed everything and probably saved her life. “A week ago I went into surgery with Dr. Thais [Aliabadi]. She performed a Laparoscopy surgery for what we thought at the time was potentially Endometriosis disease!” Maryse shared. “She found and removed 11 implants around my uterus, ovaries, and all connective tissues around the organs in my abdominal cavity. These were sent to pathology for testing.”

“Sneaky and aggressive”

The tumors found were borderline cancerous. “Very sneaky and aggressive. If those became cancer, the survival rate is less than a year.”

In one month, Maryse will have her “uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix and omentum” removed. Also, if you know, you know – sometimes the only option is survival. “There is only one option and it’s winning this battle! As a mom of two young daughters, I have to,”

“Let’s bring light to a huge woman healthcare issue here. Women get so conditioned to believe that it is normal to suffer, most often in silence. Told to stop being a cry baby. That it must be hormonal imbalances, just anxiety or just all in your head. This is not normal. This cycle has to be broken!”

Listen to her, she’s right. Reality Tea sends all of our best wishes and good thoughts to Maryse and her family.
