Ariana Madix became larger than life after the world came to know of Tom Sandoval’s betrayal, but where does that leave her friendship with Scheana Shay? In the empathy that the affair invoked for the Vanderpump Rules star, her celebrity increased and she was offered prime gigs from Dancing with the Stars, Lifetime, and Chicago on Broadway.
The question for her Pump Rules co-stars is whether the stardom changed Ariana on a personal level. Certainly, what’s been seen on VPR Season 11 is that the group is catering to her feelings and making sure she is comfortable with any social situations.
Yet in an interaction during the most recent episode, Tom Schwartz told Ariana she wasn’t the “queen of the group.” It was a matter of Schwartz trying to bring Sandovalm back into the fold. That certainly wasn’t appreciated by her ex, who wanted to set up boundaries. But what do the rest of the cast think of the new Ariana?
Scheana sees “a change” in Ariana
The group was asked to comment on the Season 11, Episode 3 After Show.
Scheana revealed that she doesn’t “hear from her as much.”
“I’ll say that,” the Good As Gold singer added. “She returns less and less texts. I know she’s more and more busy. But, I’ve seen a change in that she never asks, I don’t think, how anyone else is doing.”
However, James Kennedy stepped in to defend the Something About Her co-owner. He suggested that Ariana’s approach to friendships has not changed.
“That’s all we ask each other really,” the famed DJ explained. “That’s my friendship with her is like, ‘How have you been? I know it’s been a while, we’ve got to catch up soon. I’ve got to come to your show soon.’ And we just check up like that. And that’s my friendship with her.”
Lala Kent echoed the same sentiment. She said, “There’s three people in the group, that even before this, have rarely asked me about me. And that’s Tom Sandoval, Ariana, and Katie.”
The majority has spoken. Ariana really hasn’t changed all that much. James does think that the Broadway star has more “confidence” now though.
