When Lisa Vanderpump filmed with her staff, and Vanderpump Rules co-stars, she did it in the role of a matriarch. She talked to her staff about their dramas and gave sound advice. In the instances where someone was opening a business, Lisa also shared her business savvy.
But was that concern universal? Or did Lisa play favorites? Perhaps being in business with Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval made their well-being an interest to Lisa as well. Recently Rachel Leviss made comments about Lisa based on her experience with her former co-star.
Rachel thinks women are “disposable” to Lisa
Rachel made the comments on her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, where she finally spoke freely about LVP. And she’s not holding back her opinion that after Scandoval broke, Lisa favored Sandoval.
“I feel like Lisa has extended her resources to Tom more than I’ve ever seen that extended to me, and that concern for me. So, I’m not surprised by it because I feel like it’s pretty typical for Lisa to take the men under her wing and make sure that the men are okay, but she doesn’t really care about the women on the show as much,” Rachel said.
During a recent episode of Vanderpump Rules, Sandoval revealed to Lisa that he was having suicidal thoughts. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was quick to react. But Rachel never heard from her former boss.
She explained, “To me, my perception of it, it seems like the women are more disposable to her. And, she has invested in the TomTom name and has business with Sandoval. So, yeah, it’s like, okay, if you were really concerned about Tom having dark thoughts, like, you had to have considered my mental state of mind as well. Because we were both going through the same thing at the same time.”
“She didn’t [reach out to me], and she didn’t care what my mental state was when she pulled that whole Graham situation on me,” the former beauty pageant contestant added, referring to the story that she had surrendered her dog to a kill shelter.
Certainly, Rachel’s withdrawal from LA and subsequent stay at a voluntary mental health facility could have given the appearance of wanting to cut ties with her former life. It’s really a matter of opinion whether Lisa should have done more for Rachel. Clearly for Rachel, it wasn’t enough.
“I feel like Lisa does have a responsibility and production does have a responsibility to treat the cast equally when it comes to caring for their mental health. You can’t preach that and only apply it to one person, or pick and choose who you extend that care to. So I don’t think that was right,” she said of the entire operation.
