The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 reunion is fast approaching, and fans are still reeling over a teaser about Kyle Richards’ text to Dorit Kemsley. Now, Bethenny Frankel has some thoughts on the matter.
Kyle allegedly sent the text to sway what Dorit might say at the reunion. Dorit felt that Kyle was trying to “silence” her, calling the move “manipulated” and “calculated.”
Bethenny, in her crusade against Bravo, felt there was something disturbing about all this. She took to social media to voice her concerns.
Bethenny calls Kyle’s exposed text “a violation”
In a TikTok from February 25, Bethenny said, “I cannot believe a private, personal, emotional, heartfelt, guttural text from Kyle to a friend, off-camera – when not working, when not filming – was aired. What a violation. I cannot imagine what that would feel like.”
She continued, “Like, months later, you’re watching a show, ‘cause you get it like, a week before, and you’re like, ‘Oh my God!’ And then imagine, you’re thinking like, ‘Oh my God, what else have I texted that person? Like, where are the other monsters? I mean, that’s a private space to text through Instagram, and if you can’t do that with your friends, I can’t imagine … that’s insane.”
Tying her thoughts back to Bravo, she said, “But for the production company and the network to air a private interaction; like, when you’re working, you’re working, and that’s vile enough. But like, when you’re not working, and you’re off the clock like, are they going to also own your thoughts?”
Bethenny concluded her thoughts by saying, “Kyle is their favorite. Imagine how they treat their least favorites.”
If Kyle’s text is a problem, who’s to blame?
Bethenny’s post caused quite a stir among commenters. TikTok users were divided over whether Bethenny was right to call it a violation or if Kyle had signed up for this. One commenter asked, “Why should Kyle get special treatment? She told Dorit they weren’t that close anyways so …” Another wrote, “Showing reality on a reality show! How dare they!”
Some pointed out that the text was not as personal as Bethenny claimed, with one user writing, “It wasn’t some heart wrenching text about her marriage. It was a text to save her a** after deserting her friendship that Dorit thought was a close one.”
Another user wondered whether Bethenny’s attack against Bravo was properly placing the blame: “The violation isn’t from Bravo the violation is from Dorit.” Bethenny responded, “lol of course.” Similarly, one commenter wrote, “Kyle isn’t a friend to Dorit,” to which Bethenny rebutted, “IT DOESNT [sic] MATTER.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 reunion begins Wednesday, February 28, at 8/7c on Bravo.
