Fans may miss Claudia Jordan on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but they catch her on the new NBC competition series Deal or No Deal Island.
The show features 13 contestants living on a private island, competing in various challenges while hoping to survive long enough to win the grand prize. Although this sort of experience was a first for the reality star, playing Deal or No Deal was not. The former peach holder was a briefcase model in the series during the earlier years.
“I already knew the game front to back, so there was no studying the game of Deal or No Deal,” Claudia told Hollywood Life. “It was really the physical things I had to think about. I started trying to work out a little bit more.”
How did Claudia enjoy Deal or No Deal Island?
Since Claudia entered the game with a bit of an upper hand, she wanted to keep her identity under wraps during the process. “I was thinking maybe some of these people might not know. Because I would think they would think I’d have an advantage,” she explained. “But then I was also torn, like, if they think I can help them, maybe that will help as well. So I kind of went back and forth with it. You’ll see when you watch the show. But I always am gonna feel like I have a target, just because, ya know.”
So, how was filming Deal or No Deal Island different than the Real Housewives?
“There was no escaping,” Claudia said. “I’m in a tent with people I don’t rock with. I gotta see your face in the morning when I don’t trust you. I have to try to close my eyes and go to bed in a tent. All your luxuries of your life are taken away from you, and you get broken down to just focusing on this game. It can make you make great decisions, and you can flourish, or it can make you make some mistakes because mentally you’re just exhausted.”
Would Claudia return to RHOA?
For those who need a refresher, Claudia appeared on RHOA during Season 7, where she feuded with NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams. She departed shortly after, but fans have always begged for her return.
With the reported cast shake-ups taking place over in Georgia, would Claudia be open to a potential comeback season?
“At first, I was like hell no — but now yeah,” she said. “Now I know the game. I was very trusting, and now I know the game.”
Regarding her current relationships with past and present peach holders, Claudia revealed she still talks to “Cynthia Bailey … Kenya Moore … Kandi Burruss” and Season 7 guest “Demetria McKinney. That’s pretty much it for that.”
But if Housewives doesn’t work out, there’s still another show fans might catch her on in the future: The Traitors. “My agent just submitted me to that show,” she said. “I’m seeing it’s very popular.”
