The battle has begun. Just days after Porsha Williams filed for divorce from Simon Guobadia, her lawyers have already started making demands. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star asked Simon and his team “not to destroy, conceal, or alter” any of his financial records.
The update comes from Page Six, who reviewed the recent court filing. In addition to Porsha asking Simon to retain all financial records, her filing also shed some light on whether or not she and Simon had a prenup.
Porsha vs. Simon
In the court documents, Porsha revealed that she and Simon were living in a state of separation and that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation.” On Instagram, Simon said that he’ll keep loving Porsha until the divorce is finalized. Porsha seems to be one step ahead of him.
Regarding Simon’s financial records, Porsha and her legal team’s message sounds like a warning more than a demand. According to the court filing, she wants Simon to retain “financial records or statements; all income records; all tax records; all expense records; all recordings or evidence reflecting relevant conduct by either party.” Otherwise, he’ll face sanctions.
The court filing also confirmed that Porsha did indeed sign a prenup before tying the knot with Simon. Thank goodness. Their agreement “sets forth each party’s separate property interests and marital property interests.” Porsha wants it enforced, and her lawyer said they’re hopeful everything can be settled amicably.
Porsha’s divorce update comes amid a shocking lawsuit filed against Simon’s business. A private jet company is suing him for $814K, claiming he lapsed on a payment agreement for a share of a private aircraft. On top of that, Simon’s criminal past has allegedly put his immigration status at risk. It’s safe to say that Simon’s lawyers have a busy year ahead of them.
