When Real Housewives of New York City alum Leah McSweeney filed a lawsuit against Andy Cohen and Bravo, I was surprised. In her lawsuit, Leah claimed that behind the scenes, Bravo preyed on her alcoholism, trying to entice her to relapse. Then she alleged that Andy offered cocaine to his favorite housewives. Several housewives have already spoken out to defend Andy. Now Kyle Richards and Margaret Josephs are lending their support.
Meanwhile, Andy’s representative issued a statement regarding Leah’s allegations. “The claims against Andy are completely false,” his rep said.
Margaret and Kyle have Andy’s back
“I just want to also say about the cocaine allegations, Andy has never offered me cocaine. I am friends with every Housewife,” Margaret told Page Six. “He has never offered any Housewife cocaine. Those allegations are nothing but to assassinate his character and that is disgusting.” She continued, “The Andy Cohen that I know is nothing but professional and funny. I have only had positive interactions. I have never been in a situation of partying with him like what Leah is saying.”
Margaret doesn’t drink alcohol, although she isn’t an alcoholic. “Production has never pressured me, never offered me cocktails or anything like that. They actually are very accommodating to me,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey star explained.
And Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Kyle also disputed Leah’s allegations. “I’ve never seen Andy do drugs, offer drugs, or do anything inappropriate ever, ever. And I’m one of the closer ones to Andy,” she said. “There’s a reason he doesn’t follow any of them on Instagram. He likes to keep somewhat of a distance from all of them,” Kyle stated. “He’s professional.”
Kyle is also sober. “We’ve never been made to feel like we have to drink, never not one time. And I have not been drinking now a year and eight months and I’ve had nothing but support from both the production company and the network,” she commented.
Heather Dubrow and Meghan King defend Andy
Heather Dubrow, who stars on The Real Housewives of Orange County, echoed Kyle and Margaret’s sentiments. “I have been involved in this franchise in one way or another for over 13 years and I, obviously, can only speak from my own experience,” Heather said, “but I have never, ever felt like anyone was trying to make me drink alcohol. I’ve never seen anyone else forced to drink alcohol.” She added, “It’s never even been a conversation. I’ve always felt, honestly, very protected by the producers and by the crew.”
And RHOC alum Meghan King recalled when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Gina Kirschenheiter. Gina is sober, and Andy made sure that she wasn’t served alcohol during a mix-up with the Shot-ski. “Andy was concerned because Gina does not drink alcohol, and told the production assistant in front of the whole live audience how that could never happen again, especially with a sober person as a guest.”
Well, Andy certainly has a lot of housewives in his corner.
