Peter Madrigal from Vanderpump Rules recently slammed Bravo’s newest spinoff series, The Valley.
The show follows a group of friends trading in the busy life of Los Angeles for the “adulting” life in the titular valley. The show will feature many familiar faces (most of which fans are not excited to see back).
Former Pump Rules alum Jax Taylor will be joined on screen by his wife (for now) Brittany Cartwright. Kristen Doute, who was fired from VPR in 2020 following an alleged racist incident with Faith Stowers, will also return, joined by her boyfriend, Luke Broderick. So, what does Peter think about the new show?
Peter isn’t biting his tongue regarding the new show
During an interview on the Bravo & Blaze podcast, Peter gave his honest thoughts about the new series set to premiere on Bravo later this month.
“It looks like garbage,” he began. “It looks like trash … I saw it, and I was like, ‘Are they serious right now?’ Okay. Alright. … Who’s the target audience for on that? Who are they going for? What is this?”
One person who is excited about the series is current Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy. The loudmouth, pot-stirring DJ appeared on a recent episode of Andy Cohen’s late-night show Watch What Happens Live and boasted about the program while praising Jax.
“It’s good. It’s good. You know, I’m excited for him; he seems like stoked,” he said. “You know we’re both Valley boys now, you know what I mean? He lives 10 minutes away, Jaxy boy. You know I’m happy for him. It’s great.”
What can we expect from The Valley?
Although the first season of The Valley has wrapped, fans hope it’ll address some of the cracks in Brittany and Jax’s marriage. Brittany addressed their current situation on an episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits, and confirmed the pair are living separately.
“Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” she said. In another interview, Jax promised there was nothing malicious that took place.
“It’s not evil or nastiness. It’s just two people that you now are hitting a 10-year mark in their marriage,” he shared.
However, Brittany came forward days later and revealed that her House of Villains husband has been unwilling to make the changes she’s asked of him. “If he switches some things and changes some things about his life, then maybe we can get back together. But right now, I don’t know,” she said.
The Valley premieres on Bravo on March 19 at 9/8c.
