Sister Wives Tragedy: Why It Took So Long For Christine To Comment

When Sister Wives premiered in 2010, it was a totally different show that TLC hadn’t tried before. The premise was to showcase a real, polygamous family who just wanted to live as they believed to be true. Fans were introduced to Kody Brown, his four wives, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown, and Robyn Brown, as well as his 18 children.

Viewers really got to know each and every one of the children, especially the older ones, as they grew up over ten years, so when news broke that Garrison Brown had died, many of us were devastated, wondering what could have gone wrong in this young man’s life for him to make such a permanent decision.

Tragedy Hits

Earlier this week, Sister Wives fans learned that Garrison was found dead in his Arizona home after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Gabriel Brown, his younger brother, found him and called the police. What proceeded was an outpouring of love from the family, including a dual statement released by his parents, Janelle and Kody. It was revealed that Garrison had been struggling with alcohol, and after a weird text to people who worked on the series, writing, “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.” Janelle asked if Gabe could check up on his sibling.

According to Janelle, Garrison had just adopted a cat and seemed to be doing better in terms of his mental health. However, he was still on the outs with his father. Kody, Garrison, and Gabe famously had a long-time feud that began over the patriarch’s strict COVID-19 rules. The two sons wanted to continue to live their lives, and Kody wanted them to be safe. The argument led to months of not speaking to one another and Kody refusing to take accountability.

Christine Speaks Out

Christine who is arguably the closest to Janelle, took her sweet time releasing her own statement. Presumably, she was rushing from Utah to Arizona to be by her best friend’s side for comfort, but fans wondered why she had stayed silent for so long. Late this week, Christine shared a video of Garrison building a garden for his sister, Truely Brown. The mother of six captioned the video: “Garrison was a wonderful, caring brother who understood Truely’s need for a hobby and built her a flowerbed. We’ll miss him forever. #gratitude #missyou #loveyou #tellthoseyoulovethatyoulovethem”

The sped-up video detailed a flowerbed’s building process, which showed both Truely and Garrison working together to complete the project. The garden had mini planks and potted soil for Truely to work with. The flower bed will undoubtedly mean so much more to Truely now that her big brother is gone.

Shortly after Christine posted her tribute, Janelle shared another post on her social media. This time, it was a photo of her, her six children, and their spouses from last Christmas. The mother of six shared, “I had all my children together last Christmas. It was amazing, as it’s hard with everyone’s busy lives to coordinate time like this. I am extremely grateful now that we had pictures taken.” Garrison stood tall at the end, looking happy to be around his mother and siblings. Most of Garrison’s siblings have just reposted the photo of him but have yet to make any statement of their own.

Kody has stayed pretty quiet through his grief, but it has been revealed that TLC cameras were filming during these tragic events. It is assumed that Janelle and Kody will reunite in the wake of their son’s death to also film together. The polygamous clan is known for giving beautiful funerals, and my guess is Garrison’s won’t be any different. Fans from all over are grieving with the Sister Wives family. Even though they never knew Garrison, many feel as if they did since they watched him grow up. Some are even donating to the High Country Humane center, which is where he recently saved Ms. Buttons in honor of Garrison.
