Love is in the air in Potomac, and Ashley Darby is trying to get her groove back! The Real Housewives of Potomac star has navigated a failed marriage followed by a failed relationship with a fellow Bravolebrity. That hasn’t stopped her, and now, she’s cozying up with someone new.
The news came via People, who interviewed Ashley at an Oscars party last weekend. Not only did Ashley share a glimpse of her love life, but she also teased that she’s making baby steps towards divorcing Michael Darby. Good news all around!
Ashley’s new boo
To be clear, Ashley didn’t say that she had a “boyfriend.” She was very careful with how she positioned this. Instead of saying “boyfriend,” she said she has a “friend” that she’s been spending a lot of time with recently.
“I have a friend,” Ashley teased. “We’ve only been talking for about four months.”
In the real world, four months isn’t a long time. For a reality star, four months is something serious. Plus, the fact that she’s gushing about him to People is a positive sign.
Although Ashley didn’t name the mystery man, she did say that they’ve known each other for 15 years. That means she’s known him longer than Michael. He’s also much younger at only 49 years old.
“I was at a Friendsgiving party and the party was about to end, and he walked through the door and I was like, ‘Holy…’ — one of those moments,” Ashley said about their recent reunion. “So yeah, he asked me out. We went out the next day for dinner.”
The last time Ashley was dating someone, it was Summer House star Luke Gulbranson. Their relationship fizzled out, and she blamed it on the fact that she was still struggling to co-parent with her ex-husband. Ashley is hopeful that this time around, things will be more successful. She said that she and Michael were “slowly wading through” their divorce, alleviating a little bit of pressure on her love life.
“We’re not in the mud, there are some movements,” Ashley told the outlet.
Without so much pressure from the divorce, Ashley is focused on this new romance. Divorce still complicates things a little bit, but she’s learning to navigate it. Ashley said she’s “learning what dating means in this world.”
“There’s a lot of terminology that I’m trying to get the feel for. But we’re having fun,” Ashley shared.
