The professor has spoken! According to Dr. Wendy Osefo, there’s only one person to blame for the off-screen brawl that went down on The Real Housewives of Potomac, and that’s Deborah Williams.
The scuffle between Deborah and Keiarna Stewart went viral on social media last year. During RHOP Season 8, Episode 17, we got a glimpse into what happened leading up to the fight. The cameras were down, but the mics were still running.
You could clearly hear Deborah initiating an argument with Candiace Dillard Bassett while Keiarna tried to diffuse it. That didn’t work out too well, and they ended up pummeling each other all over the GnA fashion showcase.
Blaming the brawl on Deborah
Wendy reflected on the chaotic moment during an episode of Watch What Happens Live. When the fight was going down, Wendy said she felt frozen and didn’t know what to do. She just couldn’t believe what was happening. Despite being in shock, Wendy said it was clear to her who was at fault.
The professor said to Andy Cohen, “Deborah was 1000% percent at fault. She came over looking for trouble, threw a drink, and then all hell broke loose.”
The audio we heard on RHOP definitely aligns with Wendy’s explanation. It seemed pretty clear that Deborah was looking to start a fight with Candiace. We heard Deborah loudly approach her and ask, “You called me Sesame Street?”
In the audio, you could also hear Keiarna desperately trying to intervene. What isn’t clear is how she went from trying to pacify the situation to being on the floor with a handful of Deborah’s hair in her hand. Even if there was a drink thrown, is a fistfight the appropriate reaction?
Although Ashley Darby was just a witness to the fight, some fans have blamed her for the brawl. After all, she was the one who invited Deborah. Surely she knew she was arriving with an agenda.
On RHOP, Wendy said she wasn’t surprised Ashley would do something that messy. Either way, let’s hope that’s the last invite Deborah receives.
